(continuing a discussion from the topic "where are you, Sohaib) I'm actually the main-lightguy for 2 different companys here in Hildesheim (near Hannover). I'm controlling scans & stuff for roughly 10 years now as serious job. We're mainly using the Martin luminaires, to be precise, Mac 500, 550, 600, 700 and a couple of various DMX devices. For controling, we mainly use the MA Lightco & Scanco, the ASM R2D2 and a couple of others. Btw, I'm a freelancer, so basically working for everybody - in case you have a production one day where you can use a foreign lightguy, just shout :-) |

Hehe, maybe the lightguy from pragha khan falls of during the europe tour ^^ I'll let you know xD I'm freelancer aswel, but I go more with bands as theyre lighting guy so I just get other equipement everytime. Planning to buy my own lighttable do, and some scanners. Recently bought a remote control for dmx controlling. Comes in handy when ur aiming the lights. (dont know how to say it in correct english )I started with companies but i try to avoide it the last months, since it gives you alot of pressure then when u go with bands. (u give a stageplan, u arrive and the lights are hanging and u got a nice backstage room )Most comon lighttables i use Strand & Jands (yes jands nice and easy and u can do alot with it if you use a few pages and a few chases, the only table that never let me down.Strands is my favorite for moving heads, since i make the sets at home and just put em on a disk and its working like it should. (aldo its mainly used for theathres, but i grew up with it.) If I can choose wich moving heads i always take 4 mac550's and 2 mac700's but i dont mind if i dont have any, pars and profilespots can give awsome things. And moving heads get boring rly quick, but it hase nice functions if you can handle them. Last week I made a lightset with 2 colours (LEE201 and 153), only used 15 pars and 6profile spots and 2x2kw's and I was suprised of the result. With a few 2KW's for global stage light and 4 floorspots for the contrast. I never made pics of my lightshows do, since i dont have a digital camera, but i'll ask some friends and i'll post them here if i can get em. Hope to see some pics of your work ![]() Grtz Djo |
