Day 1

"Legacy" is a recently formed elite group of trainers who all specialise in a certain kind of Pokémon. All that I knew was that Lance was their leader and that there were five of them (four members and the leader Lance). I don't claim to be anything special but after hearing that Legacy was officially taking challenges I know I put alot of work into my team. See in order to challenge Legacy you have to specialise in a certain kind of Pokémon as well. Think of it...... a whole tournament just for Pokémon specialists! I showed up the morning of the official opening at the arena. I was amazed at how many other trainers there were. Before the doors even opened there was already a line that went almost around the block. All I could do was get in line and wait. There must have been over one hundred other trainers.

(about two hours later)

The line took forever to move into the arena and I was FINALLY stepping up to the reception desk to register my Team. The receptionist looked at me and quickly outlined the qualification guidelines.

Receptionist: "In order to qualify your Pokémon must meet the following requirements.....

1) All must be Adult Pokémon, nothing unevolved will be allowed to compete.
2) You may not enter with less than six Pokémon.
3) Your team must specialise in something specific being either a specific Type or a particular Egg Group.

For a specific Type either the entire team must be composed of this Type or all Pokémon must know at least one move of the specified Type.

Do you understand the rules?"

Me: "Yes, I think so....."

Receptionist: "Good, then my I see your Pokémon for a moment?"

I promptly handed over all six Pokémon still in their PokéBall. The receptionist placed them on a tray and then onto a computer which scanned them. When the computer was finished she turned to me and said....

Receptionist: "A Dragon Team, well we don't see these to often.

Now due to high turnout the first round will start tomorrow. I've scheduled you for an afternoon match, your opponent will be revealed to you then."

Me: "Okay...."

Receptionist: "If you need somewhere to stay for the night the arena has rooms that are available. If you look behind me...."

She turned to her left and pointed at another desk with yet another long line.

"...... you can get a room there."

Me: "Thank you."

Receptionist: "Good luck tomorrow."

Me: "Thanks"

I smiled, headed to the other desk and like about two dozen other trainers filed into the ever lengthening line.

(about an hour and a half later)

I stepped up to the desk and said to the Receptionist.....

Me: "Hello, I'd like a room......."

Receptionist2: "Sorry, we're all out. Actually we've been turning people away for about an hour now."

I didn't know what to do, I just said.....

Me: "Okay" *sigh* "well thank you anyway..." And walked away.

One of the other trainers must of overheard (or he was eavesdropping).

Trainer: "No room?"

Me: "Nope"

Trainer: "I'll tell you what.... I have some extra space and I already have some other trainers staying anyway, why do you stay in mine?"

Me: "Sure, what's the catch?"

Trainer: *chuckles* "Don't worry about it. Everybody need a place to stay and I'm just trying to help out."

He grined and led me up to the room. There were already about ten other trainers there all sitting wherever they could find a seat. The trainer introduced himself...

Trainer: "I'm Guy, and you are......"

Me: "Tyson"

Guy: "Well Tyson..."

Tyson: "You can call me Ty."

Guy: "Okay then 'Ty', you might as well introduce yourself to the rest of the crew and take a load off. Tomorrow's a big day!"

Ty: "No doubt..... hey, thanks again by the way."

Guy: "Don't mention it."

I made my rounds getting to know everybody's names and then went out to lunch. I stayed out a while taking in the sights and learning my way around the arena. It was late afternoon when I returned to the room. I spent some time talking with Guy and some of the other trainers but it wasn't long before everybody started to burn out, so I (like most others) spread my sleeping bag out on the floor and went to sleep.........

(To be Continued.......)

Day 2

I woke up early the next morning to find the room where I was staying empty. Under the impression I had woken up late I got ready as fast as I could and rushed downstairs to the lobby. When I arrived there were about fifty trainers in the lobby. I scanned the room and spotted Guy a ways away. I pushed my way through the crowd to him.

Ty: "Guy, what's going on? Where are the rest of the trainers?"

Guy: "Apparently sometime in the middle of the night a whole lot of trainers just left. The receptionists are still trying to figure out what to do about the scheduled battles....... Wait a second....."

A voice came over the P.A. system.....

P.A.: "Due to an alarming number of trainers dropping out last night the following trainer's Battles are to happen next..... Cyndi....... Bradly....... Ty........ Garner. Please report to the receptionist's desk for instructions."

Ty: "Well that's me..... I guess I'll see you later huh?"

Guy: "Guess so.... hey, good luck out there."

Ty: "Thanks"

I made my way over the the receptionist's desk, the other trainers were already there.

Receptionist: "Alright, Cyndi you're on field A, Bradly you're in field B, Garner........"

Garner: "Field C? Thanks."

And with that Garner took off with a cocky grin on his face. The rest of us just stared at him as he walked off.

Ty: "Guess that means I'm on Field D huh? Thanks."

I took a moment to shake the other trainer's hands and wish them good luck before heading out to the field.

Once I got there I didn't really know what to expect. My opponent wasn't here yet so I took a moment to survey the field. The field was completely covered in redish brown dirt.... I think it was fairly safe to assume it was an 'Ground' field so I prepared my first Pokémon and eagerly approached my end of the field.

(about 20 minutes later)

My opponent still hadn't arrived and just about when I was going to take a seat at one of the benches on the sidelines the gate at the opposite end of the field opened up. Slowly but surely a dark figure began to emerge. His right hand in his pocket the figure took shape.

The entire crowd and dare I say the entire arena gasped in awe as the figure stepped into the light and revealed himself......

It was that of none other than Giovanni.

The aleged Team Rocket leader was here in the flesh.... I thought that this must be some sort of mistake or horrible trick but just then the Announcer introduced him...

Announcer: "THE DEFENDER.......GIOoooooooooVanniiiiiii! AND THE CHALLENDER...... TY!"

Needless to say I found this to be less than amusing, nonetheless this was my opponent and I had to deal with that.

Announcer: "Trainers.... Prepare Your Pokémon!

Challenger.... Ready?"

Ty: "Yeah!"

Announcer: "Defender....... Ready?"

Giovanni: "humph"

He grunted with a savy smirk.

Announcer: "THEN LET THE BATTLE BEGIN!"

Ty: "GO..... Milotic!"

Giovanni: "Ha!...... Torterra! Time to show this kid what a real trainer looks like!"

Ty: "Taunt all you like, but I'll walk away from this one the winner."

Giovanni: "We'll see...."

Ty: *Grrrrrrrrr* "Milotic! Ice Beam!"

Giovanni: "Move Torterra! Stealth Rock!"

Giovanni's Torterra ducked out of the way but Ice beam still grazed it. Torterra then sent out a barrage of little sharp stones that scattered all around the field. They didn't do anything they just floated in place?!?

Ty: "Fine.... Milotic, use Dragon Breath!"

This time there was no escape.... Dragon Breath hit straight on stunning Torterra. I could tell it stung so I decided to capitalise.......

Ty: "Now! Use another Ice Beam!"

But then out of nowhere.....

Giovanni: "Torterra, Return!"

The red beam from Giovanni's PokéBall engulphed Torterra as the Ice Beam exploded upon the dirt.

Giovanni: "It won't be that easy 'Kid'."
