'What About Now' No.2 In The UK Midweeks Chart Westlife's new single 'What About Now' is No.2 on Tuesday's Midweeks singles chart in the UK behind Cheryl Cole: 1. Cheryl Cole 56.600 2. Westlife 32.800 3. Jay Sean 29.400 4. Alexandra Burke 26.700 5. Michael Buble 14.600 By Ben Cardew Cheryl Cole looks set to pull off a chart double this Sunday, with her debut solo album 3 Words (Fascination) likely to join her debut solo single Fight For This Love at the top of the charts. 3 Words sold more than 31,000 copies yesterday on its first day of release, around 7,000 more than its nearest competitor, Michael Buble’s Crazy Love (Reprise). Michael Jackson’s new album This Is It (RCA) is currently in third place, after selling around 17,000 yesterday. New albums from Soldiers - Coming Home (Rhino) - and Katherine Jenkins Believe (Warner Bros) should also debut within the top ten. Current number one, Alexandra Burke’s Overcome (Syco), looks set to keep a top five position. Meanwhile, Cole’s Fight For This Love (Fascination), which sold almost 300,000 units last week to debut at number one, looks highly likely to remain at number one this Sunday, after selling another 56,000 units yesterday. Its nearest competitors are Westlife’s What About Now (S), which sold more than 32,000 units yesterday, and Jay Sean featuring Lil Wayne’s Down (Island). The title track of Cole’s album should also debut within the singles top 40. Credit/Source: www.musicweek.com / RyanJL at Buzzjack / Villy |

Update: Cheryl Cole, Westlife, Miley Cyrus Wednesday, October 28 2009, 11:48 GMT By Nick Levine, Music Editor Coffee? Brewed. Hob Nob? In hand. Emails? Minimised. Excellent, it's time for our daily Chez fix. Well, she's still on course for the double and '3 Words' the track continues to climb - it's now between the 25 and 30 posts. Westlife's 'What About Now' remains right behind her on the singles chart. The Daughtry original's inside the top 30 too, by the way. Jay Sean's 'Down' is still completing the top three, while Black Eyed Peas' 'Meet Me Halfway' remains a smidge outside the top five. And Miley Cyrus? Well, 'Party In The USA' is now just three places off the top ten. Tinchy Stryder's 'You're Not Alone' is a couple of places inside the top 20, while GaGa's 'Bad Romance' is a couple outside. Right, that's your lot for today then. Same time, same place Friday? Super - it's your turn to bring the biscuits though. Digital spy |
