Westlife add their names to impressive Newmarket Nights line-up

By Robert Andrews

BOYBAND sensation Westlife have added their names to the line-up of artists set to perform at Newmarket Nights, the popular racing event.

One of Ireland's biggest bands, the quartet of Mark Feehily, Shane Filan, Kian Egan and Nicky Byrne are set to perform on August 13.

"We are delighted to be welcoming Westlife back to Newmarket Nights," said racecourse managing director Stephen Wallis.

"Their performance in 2006 was one of the fastest selling Newmarket Nights we have had and I am sure they will be as popular in 2010.

"The line-up for 2010 is almost complete and we hope to announce the remaining three acts very soon but it is certainly shaping up to be a great year for Newmarket Nights."

Westlife took a year off in 2008 after an unprecedented run of 14 number one singles, 10 chart-topping albums, 40 million sales, a sequence of yearly record-breaking, pyrotechnically astonishing and fan-delighting stadium tours.

In 2009, they released a new album "Where We Are" which featured their massive selling single "What About Now". In 2010, Westlife are set to embark on another amazing tour showcasing their new album and of course performing a number of their chart-topping hits.

Westlife join 80s pop-rock heatthrobs Spandau Ballet, soul sensations Simply Red and Brit Award-winning songwriter James Morrison.

Two further acts are set to be confirmed.

Tickets for Westlife are now on sale and can be booked by clicking here.
