Irish pop band Westlife is scheduled to fly in from Hong Kong Sunday morning for their already sold-out concert in Taiwan that evening.
The group was originally set to arrive in Taipei on Saturday. An extra performance date in Hong Kong has caused a delay in their arrival in Taiwan.

As part of the band's Asia tour which includes stops in the Philippines, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and Indonesia, the much-expected concert is to be staged at the Taipei International Convention Center at 7:30 p.m. Sunday night.

This will be the pop band 's second performance in Taipei since they last visited Taiwan six years ago.

This time, the musicians, promoting their new album "Face to Face," have promised to delight all Taiwan fans with a highly proficient performance which has been dreamed of since 2000. Their latest album, released last year, has sold more than 20,000 copies in Taiwan.

With seven multi-platinum albums, Westlife has sold about 40 million albums worldwide. Their musical achievements included winning "Record of the Year" four times in a row in England. From 1999 to 2005, the band has had 13 number one singles and is the only band in UK chart history to have had their first seven singles go straight to number one.

The Irish band's successes began in 1999 when their second single, "If I Let You Go," hit the top spot in the charts. "Flying Without Wings," in 2000, and "My Love," in 2003, were among many of their chart-topping hits over the years.

Their No. 1 singles total ranks fourth-highest in the UK, behind music history-making artists Elvis Presley, the Beatles and Cliff Richard.

Tickets for the Sunday concert range from NT$1,000 to NT$3,500. For more information call at 02-23419898 or check http://www.ticket.com.tw.
