EXCLUSIVE! Nicky Byrne on singing at Jenny Greene's wedding and hitting back at critics The former Eurovision hopeful chats to Goss.ie By Lisa McLoughlin | Deputy Editor Jan 17, 2016 | 07:12 Nicky Byrne has revealed if he wins the Eurovision he will sing at 2FM co-host Jenny Greene’s wedding. Jenny, who got engaged to her long-term love Kelly Keogh in September, is known for constantly hinting on-air that the singer will perform at her nuptials but now she’s got an answer. “I think she’s alluding to it more than actually coming out and asking me,” he said. “If I win the Eurovision, I’ll sing at the wedding.” Fun aside, representing Ireland in the Eurovision is no mean feat with a number of recent entries falling to make the cut at the contest. When asked if he is prepared for a possible backlash if he doesn’t succeed, the Baldoyle native admitted to Goss.ie he’ll “ride the wave”. “You’re always going to get a backlash, you’re always going to get something, it doesn’t suit everybody,” he said. “Don’t make songs for critics, you don’t anything for critics, you wouldn’t get out of bed in the morning if you thought people on the radio think I’m terrible. “People in the public do think I’m terrible, people tweet me telling me I’m crap, you just have to deal with that,” he told Goss.ie. “This is me for this year, it’s someone else's mantle next year and good luck to them. I’ll ride the wave this year and I mean it I’m as proud an Irishman as you’ll get.” Source: http://www.goss.ie/2016/01/exclusive-nicky...rovision/57355/ |
