Nickys Fury At Bertie Jibe Star's anger when quizzed over dig-out Nicky fues over 'dig-out' Bertie' WESTLIFE star Nicky Byrne blew his top after being asked about father-in-law Bertie Ahern's tribunal affairs, during the Meteor Awards. He lost his cool after he was asked by a reporter if he would 'give Bertie a dig-out'. The quesion - a reference to the Taoiseah receiving money from friends for his financial troubles during hismarriage split during the 1990's - angered Nicky who was at teh absh with wife Georgina. "Of course I would give me father-in-law a dig-out, wouldn't you give your father-in-law a dig-out? What kind of question is that?!" fumed the Dubliner Nicky, 29, demanded to know where the reporter who asked the question was from. When he was told, the singer rpelied sar castically, "Yeah well, thats good for you". Presenter Nikky Hayes from 2FM quicly moved to another question before the band finihed the press conference & left quickly. The source added: "Westlife has nothing to do with the Taoiseach's private affairs and Nicky was raging to be asked about it." "The band had just won Best Irish Pop Act and they were delighted about it and wanted to talk about that & their plans." "But this really put a dampner on it things, especially for Nicky. The other lads were also raging about it." "Nicky & the Taoiseach have a really good father-in-law relationship & son-in-law relationship and they get on really, really well." "The Taoiseach has been very supportive of Westlife over the years & vice versa. But first & foremost he is Nicky's father-in-law and grandfather of Nicky & Georgina's twin boys, Rocco & Jay." A SENIOR member of the PDs broke ranks yesterday & attacked Bertie Ahern. Former Junior Minister, Tim O'Malley said he was 'not happy' with what he was hearing from the Mahon Tribunal.
