Westlife’s Red Hot Night with Peppers

I’d have loved to be a fly on the wall in Dublin’s Four Seasons hotel in the early hours of yesterday morning, as rockers Red Hot Chili Peppers propped up the bar with crooners Westlife. Both acts checked into the hotel on Friday.

The Chili Peppers were in town to play Dublin’s 02 arena before nipping up to Belfast to play the MTV awards tonight. Westlife appeared on the Late Late Show on Friday night and will also be on Channel 4′s Alan Carr show tonight. They are also promoting a farewell Dublin Croke Park gig next summer.

Meanwhile, Georgina Ahern, wife of Westlife singer Nicky Byrne, admits she’s sad about the band splitting.

“I’m sad because it has been such a big part of our lives,” she tells the forthcoming issue of RSVP magazine.

“I was joking to my friend the other day saying that our 20s are officially over now, even though I’m 33, in the sense that the travelling and living in that kind of bubble is coming to an end.”

As for what she thinks Nicky will do next, she predicts: “Westlife still have a full working year ahead of them, so I think it’ll only be when the promotional campaign and tour is over that he will get a chance to think about it.

“Nick has made no secret of his passion for presenting and performing, and he loves being on TV and radio and taking on the role of presenter.”
