ITV commission Westlife farewell programme

Friday, 21 October 2011 12:10

A special programme has been commissioned by ITV celebrating the life of Westlife as they perform in front of a studio audience.

‘Westlife: For The Last Time’ will feature interviews with the band and those behind the scenes who have worked with them closely over the years. They will also be performing some of their biggest hits in front of a studio audience. Earlier this week it was announced that the band would be splitting up next year after 14 years.

They have had 14 UK Number 1 singles and 11 top five albums, making them one of the most successful bands of all time. In 2007, they featured on ITV 1 with “The Westlife Show: Live”, in which the band celebrated their achievements to date in front of a live audience.

The farewell programme will air later this year and will be made by ITV Studios in association with Sony Music.
