The stuffed toy that travelled nearly 200,000 miles around the world!

London, July 6 (ANI): Stuffed toy Dai has travelled nearly 200,000 miles around the world - and met stars like Westlife and Lemar.

The 20-inch school mascot has even been to the North Pole and is soon off to Belize and Malawi.

The red dragon belongs to headteacher Steve King at Trelloch primary school in Monmouthshire who uses it as a teaching aid.

He gives Dai to pupils and pals to take on trips then plots Dai's progress on a website.

Since 2005, the mascot has been abroad with pupils from Trellech Primary, university students and different host families.

This is a fun way to teach children subjects such as maths, English and geography - as well as to help them understand concepts like global citizenship, The Sun quoted Steve, as saying.

They can hold Dai and say, 'Wow, he's been there' and point out the places on the globe.

He's a good travelling companion and I think the blokes who took him to the North Pole took a shine to him, he added. (ANI)
