Dude, wake up! We've got a world to save.

It took Annie a little while to respond. Between replaying the meeting she had just had in her head, and imagining how it was going to play out, she was more than a little distracted. She shook her head, physically forcing herself back to the present. “That’s not really my kind of medicine,” she admitted. She looked over her shoulder as she answered. Nolan was in the back, along with Alma and Kelsey in the middle. She was up front in the passenger’s seat, with Connor leaning forward between her and Jimmy. It was tight quarters, but could have been worse. None of them took up that much space. “You’d have to ask an ID specialist, and I don’t think even they’d have any clue,” she said. “This is all just so far out there. Your guess would be as good and mine.” “And on that happy note,” Jimmy said. “Who wants to play I Spy?” “There’s nothing to spy,” Connor mumbled. “Fair point, kiddo,” Jimmy admitted. “Twenty questions it is.” |

"Twenty questions, huh?" Nolan mused. That was a very Jimmy thing to suggest. But he wasn't entirely opposed to it -- especially after his inquiry was shot down as quickly as it was. He wasn't surprised that nobody wanted to talk about the walking dead. "I got something. Why don't you start us off then, Jimmy?" |

“As long as it’s not a deadhead,” Jimmy said. “Actually, let’s start off there – is it a deadhead?” “That’s a waste of a question,” Connor said. Jimmy smirked. “Okay, smart guy, then I cede the floor. Nolan, belay my last. Connor, what you got?” Connor sighed, then sat up in his seat. “Fine,” he said. “Is it bigger than a shoebox?” |

Nolan nodded his head at Connor's question. "Yes." |

"You wish that was me. You'd be struggling to breath if it were." Emily promised Willow eliciting a soft chuckle from Brandon. Brandon sat with sketchpad in hand trying his best to draw some of the people sat nearby. He'd added a few faces to his collection since that night in Flint. There was now Connor and Annie stting by a campfire, as well as Nolan, Emily and Antonio. And Jen. He was attempting to draw Andy but the constant movement of the RV made it difficult to manage any detail. He set it down with a defeated sigh. "That was me." he admitted nonchalantly. It was strange he was comfortable doing that in front of Willow already. Perhaps it was accurate to say it would have been strange. Nothing about them really seemed strange anymore, now that they were getting married. |

“Is it bigger than a fridge?” Connor asked. Jimmy craned his neck for a moment. “What about you, señorita,” he asked, looking to Alma. “You got any questions?” She shrugged – not the talkative type, that was Jimmy’s deduction from the half hour or so he had spent with her. At least, not when she was around them. Around her boyfriend and that Lowell kid, she seemed a little looser, but they were both packed into the bed of the truck, separated by the rear glass window. That window, at least, had been spared in the chaos earlier. That window wasn’t the reason the wind was so loud right now. “We’ve still got another three or four hours on the inside,” Jimmy prompted, over the noise. “Might as well play along.” She sighed and sat up, much like Connor did. “Okay, I got a question,” she said. “How’d your friend become a pirate?” Jimmy groaned a little as he looked forward again. “Y’all are determined to keep the conversation heavy, aren’t you?” |

"Yes." Nolan answered Connor. Then he turned to Alma and gave the young woman a conflicted frown. "Jimmy isn't much one for heavier subjects, but I don't mind. Gotta talk about that stuff, right? Otherwise you never get comfortable with it." Least that is what mom always said. "He got nabbed by a group of people that were being manipulated by some really bad people. I don't know all the details, but he got beat up real bad while he was there. They're the same people that put Jen in the ground back there too. You guys were lucky to avoid them." |

“Is it bigger than an elephant?” Connor asked. Jimmy’s eyes were back on the road, but he could see Alma’s expression in the rear view – she looked somewhere between thoughtful and surprised. “Mierda, I guess so,” she swore. “They the same ones that roughed up his girlfriend – er, his fiancée? And the ones that shot you? Don’t mean to be creepy, I just noticed the way you guys walk, and the looks on your faces sometimes.” * * * Hank smirked at the banter, not bothered that it was at least a little bit disgusting. He adjusted his rear view mirror to get a better look at the people squeezed in back there. They had still had some time to kill, and Riley wasn’t there to object to him being ‘overly friendly’, so he decided to take the opportunity to learn some more about his new passengers. “So how long have you guys known each other?” He asked the question over his shoulder. He meant it towards Willow and Brandon – Noah had mentioned something about them getting married, and he was curious about that – but he left it open to anyone. |

"Yes." Nolan told Connor. That's three questions, right? Shoebox, refrigerator, elephant? Yeah, three. Seventeen to go! I shoulda picked something less obvious. He turned his attention back to Alma. "I just got thrown out of a car during a car chase earlier. That's where this came from." He tapped at the 11 stitches on his forehead with the index finger of his left hand. "Before that I was lucky enough to only be shot twice. Both in the same arm though and neither of them too bad. As for his Willow, I don't think she'd be walking right now if it was those guys that got her. From what I hear, she got shot a handful of times back in Ontario during a gunfight while shielding her unconscious boyfriend. Almost died, but thanks to the good doctor here, she pulled through." |

“Mierda,” Alma repeated, in a louder voice and with wider eyes this time. “How many fights you guys been in?” “Is it a building?” Connor asked his question right after. |

Nolan exhaled slowly; "The government completely abandoned us; hell, the National Guard shot and almost killed me. With no government and a ton of walking corpses, all you got leftover is a bunch of scared people. And a handful of bad ones that can take advantage of that. After a few mishaps, even the good people stop trusting other people. There's a reason Jimmy fired that first shot, you know. Especially on the heels of the Green River. That's where those guys we got tangled up with earlier were camped out." Nolan turned his attention back to Connor. "And no. It's not a building." Four questions. |

Connor scrunched his face. “Is it a place?” “But there are still people?” Alma asked, focusing on a different part of the story than Jimmy might have expected. “’Cause we didn’t run into anything but biters after the first week, least not until Hank found us. My family’s in Mexico. Noah said they’re probably all dead.” |

"Depends who you ask. I've known Kelsey for a month and a half, Brandon and Eli for two and a half weeks, and everyone else even less than that." Willow casually flipped a page in her book. "We're like those old homeless women that adopt a bunch of stray cats, you know? But instead of stray cats, it's stray people." * * * * * Nolan frowned at Alma's words. "That seems pretty presumptuous. We know of small survivor colonies in New York, Ontario, Michigan, and Wyoming. And those were just the ones we stumbled on. I'd be willing to bet there are a lot more living people out there than most people would think. I would never try to give you false hope and say your family is alive... but I would never discount the possibility either. I thought my family was dead for over a month -- after I escaped from the National Guard, I locked myself in a house and survived for two weeks by rationing what little food they had. And then, when I had given up and thought I was going to die, my sister and her friends somehow managed to track me down." He could never tell anyone that their family was probably dead after experiencing that. Even if it was a minute chance, there was still a possibility that they were alive out there. Maybe he just being foolishly optimistic though. Meeting up with his sister again was certainly miraculous, but if nothing else, it was proof that miracles do happen. "And Connor, no." Five questions. |

"Brandon and I have known each other since we were six. How about you guys? Have long have you known everyone in your outfit?" Emily asked as she attempted to stretch out as much as she could. |
