April Nicole Geyer Above: Geyer, circa 1998 Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance Missing Since: August 14, 1998 from St. Cloud, Minnesota Classification: Endangered Missing Date Of Birth: July 9, 1977 Age: 21 years old Height and Weight: 5'2, 140 pounds Distinguishing Characteristics: Caucasian female. Brown hair, brown eyes. Geyer has a peace symbol tattooed on her left middle finger. She has a tattoo of a winged heart on her left shoulder. Clothing/Jewelry Description: Possibly an oversized black t-shirt and biker shorts or denim shorts. Medical Conditions: Geyer has a history of abusing alcohol and methamphetamine. Details of Disappearance Geyer left her residence in Milaca, Minnesota on August 14, 1998. She was accompanied by a friend, Roseanna Marie Forcum, at the time. Neither Geyer nor Forcum have been heard from again. There was little word on what may have happened to Geyer and Forcum until an informant came forward after their disappearance. The individual told authorities that Geyer and Forcum attended a party in St. Cloud, Minnesota during the evening of August 14. Geyer and Forcum may have attempted to hitchhike home after the party. The man stated that his friend strangled both women shortly thereafter at his apartment in St. Paul, Minnesota. The informant claimed that he assisted their attacker with the women's burials. The individual also stated that Geyer and Forcum were buried near farmland in Wadena County, Minnesota near the Leaf River. A search of the area produced no evidence as to their whereabouts. Investigators do not know if the informant was providing accurate information and his story has never been confirmed. Authorities initially believed that Geyer and Forcum left their homes of their own accord, as they had a history of disappearing together for extended periods of time. Their loved ones said that both girls normally phoned their relatives shortly after each incident. Geyer's mother said that her daughter had been depressed since the drowning death of Geyer's boyfriend in 1997, one year prior to her disappearance. Geyer left behind a young son, whom her mother is now raising. Forcum completed a program for juvenile offenders shortly before disappearing in the summer of 1998. Their families believe the girls met with foul play. April was possibly hitchhiking back to her home in Milaca. April called home the first week of August to let her know she was in St. Cloud with friends and intended to come home to visit her son. April never showed. April and Roseanna were known to take off, sometimes for days, without warning. Both from the St. Cloud area, Rose and April would phone their parents during those trips just to let them know they were safe. Eventually each would return home. But in August 1998 they left and didn't come back. The young women's parents started to get really concerned in the last weeks of August 1998, and reported them missing. Rose attended classes at her junior high irregularly and eventually was transferred to an alternative learning center. April was a high school dropout. She was in and out of school and in and out of trouble for underage drinking and truancy. She moved around a lot, taking apartments in St. Cloud and, briefly, in St. Paul during the summer of 1998. She is described as being friendly with everyone, and compassionate. She made conversation easily and had a mischievous grin. But she also got mixed up with a rough crowd, drugs and alcohol. At age 14, she gave birth to a son. Investigators have searched and excavated an area near Wadena - 150 miles northwest of the Twin Cities. No clues have bee found. Foul play is suspected.
