•The victim was discovered on October 2, 1969 in Oakland, Alameda County, California.
•Manner of death is homicide.
Vital Statistics
•Estimated age: 16 - 23 years old
•Approximate Height and Weight: 5'5"; 105 lbs.
•Distinguishing Characteristics: Medium-length, dark brown hair; blue eyes. Needle marks on arms.
•Dentals: The victim wears a partial denture for an old extraction of a front upper central incisor tooth. The partial denture is commercially made and has been repaired several times
•Fingerprints: Available

Case History
The unidentified woman entered room 15 of the St. Louis Hotel in Oakland, which is currently the site of the North Alameda County Jail, with a man named Taylor Morris Teaford on October 2, 1969. He beat and strangled her with an article of her own clothing and there is a warrant out for his arrest for her murder.

Teaford may also go by the name of "Melvin Teaford", his date of birth is June 18, 1935, height 6'0", weight 185 lbs. and he has black hair and brown eyes.

Taylor Morris Teaford

AKA: Morris Teaford, Taylor Melvin Teaford

DOB: June 18, 1935
Place of Birth: North Fork, California

Description (in 1968):
American Indian, 5'11" - 6'0" tall, 170 - 175 lbs., black hair, light brown complexion, medium muscular build, brown or hazel eyes.

Medical: Limps with his right leg due to Polio.

Background:
Performs regular exercises and lifts weights.
He is a skilled hunter and fisherman.
Taylor is proficient with all types of firearms and is a fast and accurate shooter.


Taylor who is known as a "loner" has a extremely vicious and explosive temper. His criminal record, which started when he was 18 years, contains convictions for burglary and rape. He reportedly drinks heavily, uses narcotics and sniffs glue.

Teaford allegedly murdered his 74-year old grandmother and shooting his sister, a passing motorist and a deputy sheriff. At the time of the crime, Taylor had recently been paroled from a California prison on April 3, 1967.

Taylor fled to a mountain region near North Fork, California.

A federal warrat was issued at Merced, California on May 5, 1968, charging Teaford with unlawful interstate flight to avoid prosecution for murder and assault with intent to commit murder.

He is also alleged to have murdered a young female at the St. Louis Hotel in Oakland, California on October 2, 1969. The victim was strangled and her face was crushed beyond recognition with savage blows. Police believe he may have killed more women in Oakland.

Taylor is considered armed and extremely dangerous.

On October 2, 1969, the body of an unidentified female was discovered in a room of the St Louis Hotel off 7th Street in Oakland, California. It is believed the Jane Doe had been deceased less than 24 hours. The decedent had short brown hair and a slim build, and was found with a white knit dress on. Also found with the decedent was a white sweater, white knee-height leather boots, multicolored (pink, green, orange, purple) bell-bottom jeans, multicolored (yellow, grey, orange, brown, black) blouse, and a multicolored (black, white, orange, yellow striped) miniskirt dress. The decedent also had a removable dental plate for a dental extraction of the front upper central incisor tooth. The decedent also had needle scars on the insides of both elbows. The reconstruction featured above is an artist’s rendering of what the Jane Doe may have looked like.
