![]() http://www.doenetwork.us/cases/431ufmd.html ![]() http://www.doenetwork.us/cases/820dfmd.html I had submitted this to another network and the panel there knocked it back. I wonder if you could look at it for me please. The reasons for the knockback were: Race, and length of time between missing and found. I just thought it was worth another look. There is a 2 year gap between Rita went missing and the UID was found. But the dental work and the similarities in age and geography are compelling. My stand is that if the UID had dental work consistent with dental students (as stated in the file), perhaps it might also be consistent with dental work done in Ecuador, Rita's native country. I never did understand the race problem the panel had. So could you take a look and see what you think? Thanks! |

Id certainly submit that one. If for no other reason than old and cold. But the eyes are what catch my attention. Seems like they might have dentals to compare. Or at least an idea of what her teeth looked like when she went missing. Shouldnt be hard to rule in or out. |

Sorry the pictures aren't showing. Don't know why that is happening. Yes, I figured that old and cold and the fact that it looks like dentals may be easy to compare should make this one to send in. Unless anyone sees something very wrong with this, I'd say it needs to be submitted at least for a rule-out. Thank you, 100%! |

I think you have a very good eye here. However, there are a few things that make this not a match for me. The width of the noses and the curve brow ridge seem different. The time between MP and finding the UID is too far apart. |

Thanks Rudy. I wish we knew, if the remains were skeletal how they came to the time of death being Spring of 82. But I guess they know these things. |

Ok, here's what I'm going to do - I'll either e-mail the match in or someone can offer to call it in for me (since I'm overseas). I think it's worth a try, given the close proximity of the UID and the Missing geographic wise. I think it's worth getting a rule out on, if nothing else. At least then I could put it out of my mind and move on, LOL |
