Tonight the security of our organization was compromised by someone we believed was deserving of our trust. It saddens me to know that this once respected member worked behind our backs to destroy the very foundations that we as a group have made. When confronted, this person acted irrationally and succeeded in hijacking this site for their own use. After being threatened with consequences should the person not return the site to it's rightful owner, the hijacker vacated. The Porchlight forums are now secure. New measures have been taken to make sure the site is never subjected to such an attack again. I wish to say how sorry I am to our members, our readers and to the victims' families. There is no excuse for not taking such measures earlier and I can only ask you to forgive this incident. Our one goal at Porchlight is to find your loved ones, wherever they may and however long it takes us. We will continue our struggle and I ask the victims' families, law enforcement and other organizations to work with us. Perhaps, in time we will gain your trust once more. Perhaps, in time this incident may be fogotten. But there is one thing I hope is never forgotten and that is those lost souls we must guide home. James Shaw (Researcher) |

Thank you James, and Pilgrim too. You hard work and quick thinking saved the day today and I will always be in your debt. Please accept my apologies everyone. |

Sadly, only sometimes after a breach is made do we find the weak spots. Thankfully no lasting harm was done. Thanks to those members of PL who worked for hours to restore and secure the site. |

Ell Only after the last tree has been cut down; Only after the last fish has been caught; Only after the last river has been poisoned; Only then will you realize that money cannot be eaten. | |

It is aggravating that there seems to be one in every crowd. Thanks for your hard work and determination. Too bad everyone can be "stand up" and responsible. |

People will always exceed your lowest expectations. This sort of thing happens all the time. I am glad you were able to resolve it successfully. Cheryl |
