Former coroner hopes dental records key to identifying body
Associated Press

FLORENCE, S.C. - The former Darlington County coroner who investigated the 2000 discovery of a woman's body under a tree is seeking a missing woman's military dental records in hopes of solving the mystery.
The Darlington County Sheriff's Office is extracting DNA from a tooth belonging to the unidentified woman. Former Coroner Eldridge Norton wants the dental records from a Dothan, Ala., woman who has been missing since 1999.
A reconstruction of the skull of the woman whose body was found near Bishopville in February bears some resemblance to the photograph of the Alabama woman, authorities have said. The nose and chin features are the most similar.
U.S. Rep. John Spratt's Darlington office sent a copy of the subpoena to the military's National Personnel Records Center.
Darlington County authorities found the unidentified woman under a tree Aug. 3, 2000, at a rest stop at mile marker 129 on I-20 near the Lee County line.
The sheriff's office has said the woman was killed.

This thread just sort of fell away. Thought it would be good to revive it.
