33UFTX (Orange Socks) and 82DFCA Alma Violet Root; DN turned this down...

I had one of those Aha! moments when I put these two together (and to be honest, those are few and far between ) but I really think this is a match. I realize the timing is off but my theory on that is this: All of the info about Alma going missing was coming from her boyfriend who she lived with and he was also considerably older than her. He could have gotten rid of her and couldn't keep fabricating the story of her being alive any longer so he came up with reporting her as a missing person. Anyway, I've seen the post-mortem photos of Orange Socks on DN and their faces, especially the forehead, eyebrows and nose look alike. Tell me if you think I should pursue this or let it go.

Oh yeah, I wanted to add that I was comparing this by the port-mortem pics, not by that sketch they have on DN. Maybe someone has a link to the post-mortems?

The timing doesn't work. The unidentified was found before the missing went missing.

You seem to have really thought this one out, but I do not think it is her. The nose and lenght of the face are the first differences I see.
Keep up the search, you will make a match.

I see a likeness in the face but everything else seems to be off, the height, age...sorry, I dont think this one is a match. :( Keep on it though!

The Old Heifer! An oxymoron, of course.

Best place for post mortems is Gaelle's site http://meyahna.tripod.com/index.html
We will create a spot for them ourselves at some point when we are a little more secure.

This wouldn't be a bad match at all except for a couple things. Even getting around the height, there is the large age gap and the lack of tattoo on the UID. Normally a small tattoo on an UID is hard to make out but since this victim was found only hours after her death, it would still be noticeable.

I think they look very much alike but I douth Orange Socks is poor little Violet.
If you want to ease your mind, you could contact LE to ask them if the UID had a tattoo of a heart.

The timing doesn't work. The unidentified was found before the missing went missing.

I agree with her theory that the missing information could have been reported purposely wrong. If you look at her case information it seems as though the very much older boyfriend is the one who may have provided details. This kid was only 14 years old and "staying" with a man that was 25!. That alone makes me suspicious of HIS intentions. I would be more comfortable if I knew her stats and information came from her family. When did THEY last have contact with her? Could she have been missing for three or four months before she was actually reported missing? At 14 she is still in growing ages. WHEN was she 5'4? WHen she was at her last doctors visit which could have been much earlier or was she actually 5'4 at the time she was missing?

Think about it.. a 14 year old girl with a 25 year old man. Something is very odd here. The sketch doesnt look much like Alma but the post mortem does.

Bossman... this is a good one for YOU! Try to find out who provided the information and how long it was since family members actually saw her...

Orange Socks and Alma have been ruled out. Gerry sent Anne this e-mail:

From: GNANCE@ncmec.org

First, she is not Orange Socks, that much we do know. Violet (her middle name and the one she preferred) was last seen in the company of the boyfriend on January 1, 1980.
