CASE DETAILS AND VARIOUS RECONSTRUCTIONS: http://www.doenetwork.us/cases/272uftn.html NEW RECONSTRUCTION PHOTOS: http://www.longpauses.com/hughes/anderson.htm Unidentified White Female * Discovered on March 6, 2000 in Melton Lake in Oak Ridge, Anderson County, Tennessee. ![]() ![]() Possible match to: TERA LYNN SMITH http://www.missingkids.com/missingkids/ser...earchLang=en_US MORE PHOTOS AND MORE INFO AT: http://nie.redding.com/specials/Smith/ Reasons: 1) Jane Doe is thought to have been in her 20s (born 1970-1980) - Tera was born in 1982 - 2 years younger than estimated. (Tera would have been 18) 2) Jane Doe is very tall - estimated at 5' 9 1/2" - Tera is listed at 5'7" but since she was still a teenager is that information totally accurate? 3) Jane Doe is listed as "probably" having medium to dark brown hair. Tera is listed as blond. 4) Jane Doe is thought to have entered the water in February 2000. Tera went missing in August 1998. That is a 1.5 year span. 5) Jane Doe was found in Tennessee, and Tera went missing from California. Since there would be the 1.5 year time span between its possible. Because of the resemblence to the new reconstruction I thought I'd post this possibility, but truthfully there isn't a "aha" moment there for me. What do you think? |

Another possibility is APRIL WISS http://www.geocities.com/findaprilwiss/MoreInformation.html MORE PHOTOS OF APRIL HERE http://www.geocities.com/FindAprilWiss/ ![]() Reasons: 1) Jane Doe is thought to have been in her 20s (born 1970-1980) - April was born in 1983 - 3 years younger than estimated. (April would have been 17) 2) Jane Doe is very tall - estimated at 5' 9 1/2" - April is listed at 6'0" 3) Jane Doe is listed as "probably" having medium to dark brown hair. April has long brown hair. 4) Jane Doe is thought to have entered the water in February 2000. April went missing on January 11, 2000. She was due to testify in court 2 days later - it is unclear if she got scared and ran away, or if she was abducted. 5) Jane Doe was found in Tenessee and April went missing from Wichita, KS. Google maps estimate it to be about 16 hours (driving time). MAP 6) April does not look like any reconstruction in particular - but it you look at all the photos from the Doe Network link, beside the photos of April, there are some resemblences. The stats/case details are mostly bang on though. Again... not sure... anybody? |

Age can easily be off. It's hard to estimate. I'm not sure I see either in there, but it's worth checking out. |

Well did you send em to LE? Your allowed now ya know LOL! My thoughts are as long as the stats are similar and there is some resemblence you should send it to the member of LE that is handling the cases. That way no time is wasted thinking about COULD it be her. I think the first one looks pretty good. |

LOL AWagner! Since I was never a member of the "other forum" I have always been "allowed". I have not contacted LE because of my "common problem" - I can't find an email address. There is no email address on the Doe Network page. There is no email address on the Oak Ridge Police website http://orserv01.ci.oak-ridge.tn.us/police/admin.htm The NCMEC does not accept email tips In the case of Tera Lynn Smith - since she disappeared from Redding, CA, I could send an email there... but I'm unsure who is handling the case? The NCMEC poster says the NCMEC is. The old website (with expired links) says its the Shasta County Sheriff's office (who I did find an email for) http://www.co.shasta.ca.us/Departments/Sheriff/index.htm Email: sheriff@co.shasta.ca.us There is also a police department in Redding and their website says: By Email: The following Email addresses are provided for your convenience. Please note that some of the police officers and other department staff may not have full-time access to the Internet and may not be able to check their Email on a routine basis. If you have difficulty receiving an acknowledgment or answer to your Email, you may always send a message to rpdemail@reddingpolice.org (please identify the individual on the subject line), and the message will be printed and forwarded to the officer's department mailbox. I also tried to find an online Crime Stopper's link, for Tenessee but was unsuccessful. So... does anyone know of a good email address to send this "tip" to.... or is anyone in the area that wouldn't mind picking up the telephone and advising the detectives? |

I can call tomorrow if you like from NJ. Makes no difference to me but my experience is that Sundays are not the best days to reach investigators. But I will be glad to call tomorrow for you. Actually think both should be submitted as well. |

I have run into that same problem. When I cant find a good email address I print out the pages and snail mail it with my email address and a note asking it they would email to confirm they have it. Has worked nicely so far. Plus the information is there for them to see immediately without them having to check links etc. I even had one email me to let me know he is retiring and who is taking his cases. I really have found members of LE to be quite happy for any tips they can check out. They just dont like to be drilled for information they havent released. Anne |

Nicole May the dragon of life only roast your hot-dogs and never burn your buns! Those who complain about the way the ball bounces, are usually the same ones who dropped it. You can tell the quality of a person by how they treat people they don't need. | |

I know I am new to this site, but I have spent a lot of time looking for our missing Cyndi. I just want to say that I think any honest effort is worth the time. Your friend, Sooner |

Hi Bonnie, Yes, we have a sort of problem in that we try really hard to walk that fine line between sending in matches we think are really good and those we just hope are so that Law Enforcement doesn't get to taking us with a grain of salt and begin ignoring our matches. We wish we could just send in every MP and every UID and say 'check ém' but of course that's impossible. Shouldn't be tho. To my way of thinking, every single UID and every single MP should be in a major database that could run these checks automatically. It's a slow tedious job but we keep at it. I've been doing this over a year and haven't had a match work out yet, but I am hoping! :-) Hugs, Di |

Hey, Just curious, I now you're cousins and all, but does Cyndi's parents know what you're doing? I know you told me that they weren't in the best of health. How are they? Darrell |
