http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/breaki...0820-story.html Realtor finds human remains at Groveland property, deputies say Human remains found in Groveland Ryan Gillespie A Realtor and clients found human remains Saturday at a property that is up for sale in Groveland, Lake County deputies said Sunday. Investigators responded to the home on Douglas Road Saturday after receiving a call about 5:50 p.m., sheriff’s Lt. John Herrell said. Because it was getting dark, detectives couldn’t fully investigate the scene then, so a deputy stood guard overnight until they could continue their work Sunday morning. The Sheriff’s Office did not disclose further information. Property records indicate the nearly 5-acre property is north of State Road 50 and has a two-bedroom house on it that is about 1,000 square feet. A Lake County Property Appraiser’s map shows the land is covered by trees, and the north end of the property has a retention pond. |

Essence Owens was the mother of two children, one only 4-years-old. Essence's partially decomposed remains were discovered last week in a remote area near Groveland in Lake County. Her body was discovered by a real estate agent showing property behind a trailer. "I said her spirit was strong because where her body was found, because there was no way anybody could have been found out there," Alicia Owens, Essence's mother said. Essence was reported missing by a relative on Aug. 15. The relative told Orlando police she was concerned for Essence's safety due to her prostitution activity. "No matter what she did in her lifetime when she got grown at the end of the day: That was still my child. That was still my child," Owen's said. Essence's mother went to the spot where her daughter's remains were found. The spot has been marked with candles, balloons and flowers. The Lake County Sheriff's Office said they are actively investigating. |
