Officers say when his ride came to pick him up, his belongings were packed, but Prunkard couldn't be found. He was last seen making a call and waiting in the Mielniks Shopping Village Plaza He's described to be 70-years-old, 6-feet tall, wearing glasses and an orange shirt. Anyone with information is asked to call police. |

Police: Body found in river was that of missing Altoona man by Matthew StevensTuesday, August 15th 2017 ALTOONA - State police said a body found Tuesday morning was that of a missing Altoona man. Trooper David McGarvey said 70-year-old John Prunkard had been missing since Friday after a camping and fishing trip. Police said members of the Geeseytown Fire Company discovered the body in the water of the Juniata River around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday. |
