http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2017/07/19/remains...een-ages-16-22/ Remains Found In Ellis County Are That Of Woman Between Ages 16-22 By Annie Gimbel | CBSDFW July 19, 2017 3:09 PM ELLIS COUNTY (CBSDFW) – Anthropologists have identified the race and sex of human remains found Saturday afternoon in an agricultural field near Section House Road north of Alma. Ellis County Sheriff’s Sergeant Joe Fitzgerald said a team from the UNT Center for Human Identification determined they belonged to an African-American female, 16 to 22 years old, between five-six and six feet tall, medium frame with a muscular build. The anthropologists said the remains could have been there anywhere from a month to a year. “It was not a whole lot of remains left, just bones,” said Fitzgerald, of the remains found by hunters. The woman was wearing a Pilot Point “Bearcat Pride” t-shirt when she died. Fitzgerald said investigators are cross-referencing all the information with open missing persons cases from throughout the region. Investigators ask for anyone with information to call Criminal Investigations Sergeant Joe M. Fitzgerald at 972.825.4928. |

http://www.fox4news.com/news/274407638-story Ellis County remains identified, victim's boyfriend arrested By: FOX4News.com Staff POSTED: AUG 17 2017 12:35PM CDT UPDATED: AUG 17 2017 05:13PM CDT WAXAHACHIE, Texas - Investigators in Ellis County have arrested a man they believe killed his girlfriend and dumped her body. Guy Wayne Lynch is charged in connection with the murder of his live-in girlfriend, 21-year-old Tia Marie Spearman. Spearman recently moved to Texas from Oklahoma. Her family had not heard from her since May. In June the family started working with investigators in Biloxi, Miss. because they suspected she might be there. As the investigators in Mississippi were following leads, they learned that Spearman had moved to North Texas. In July a hunter found human remains and a Pilot Point High School t-shirt in an open field near Alma. Investigators in both states finally connected the dots. Dental records confirmed the remains belonged to Spearman. Lynch was arrested in Little Elm, where the couple lived. He is being held on a $1 million bond. |
