A body found in a creek on the south side of Indianapolis on Thursday has been identified as a 40-year-old woman, according to the Marion County coroner's office on Friday.

Tanya Ragsdale, 40, of Indianapolis, was found in Bean Creek just before 1 p.m. on Thursday in the 1800 Block of Cruft Street, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

According to Fox 59, Ragsdale is a mother of two and was reported missing last weekend.

Jim Gillespie, spokesman for IMPD, said the cause of death is unknown and the investigation is ongoing.
