By HALLE PARKER Richmond Times-Dispatch 17 hrs ago

Richmond police on Monday said that Kathryn I. Brady, who hadn't been seen in nearly a year, has been found.

“Due to an overwhelming response from the community, Kathryn Brady has been located and is safe. Thank you everyone who provided information which led us to Ms. Brady,” wrote Detective W.E. Thompson in a news release.

Earlier story: Richmond police are requesting the public’s help in finding a missing woman who may often stay in homeless encampments in the city.

Kathryn I. Brady, 60, who was last seen nearly a year ago, was described as a white female with short blond hair, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds, police said.

A family member said Brady was last seen June 26, 2016, near Seventh and Hospital streets in the wood line. VCU Police had their last contact with Brady on July 29, 2016.

Richmond police said Brady may go by the alias Kathryn B. Gafvert-Wehrfritz.

Anyone who sees Brady or has information on her whereabouts is asked to call Major Crimes Detective W.E. Thompson at (804) 646-3925 or Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000. Citizens can also text Crime Stoppers at 274637, using the keyword “iTip” followed by your tip. Both Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.
