http://www.journaltribune.com/news/2017-05...ll_missing.html Lebanon domestic assault suspect still missing By ALAN BENNETT Staff Writer LEBANON — State police are still searching for a missing Lebanon man who is the suspect in a domestic violence case in Lebanon. Police continue to look for Dale Godfrey, 52, of Lebanon, who has been missing since early morning April 26. He is wanted for a domestic violence assault that occurred at his home. Steve McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, said at the time that Godfrey fled in his pickup truck following the alleged assault around 4 a.m. April 26. State Police Trooper Kyle Wells found the pickup a few miles away from where the incident occurred, McCausland said, although Godfrey was not found. McCausland said in an email Tuesday that a group of police troopers and game wardens, aided by a bloodhound from the Strafford County, New Hampshire Sheriff’s Office, searched a large wooded area off Champion Street in Lebanon on Saturday and found Godfrey’s checkbook in a stream, but no sign of the wanted man. Troopers now believe someone may have picked up Godfrey or that he may still be in the area. McCausland said this morning it's possible Godfrey could have fallen into nearby Milton Pond, which divides Lebanon in Maine from Milton, New Hampshire. "He's either been picked up or he’s off in the woods, or Milton Pond is nearby so there’s a possibility he may be in the lake," McCausland said this morning. "At this point he’s still missing." Trooper Wells said Godfrey has not shown up for work in Berwick, there has been no activity on his cell phone and no financial transactions on any of his accounts. Anyone with information on Godfrey is asked to call Maine State Police in Gray at 657-3030. The assault victim, who is not being identified, was treated for her injuries and released. |
