Body found floating in canal identified The Bakersfield Californian 9 hrs ago 0 A man who died after his body was found floating in a canal near the City Corporation Yard on Friday has been identified. Michael Joseph Brouilette, 56, of Bakersfield, was found at 1:09 p.m. in the Kern Island Canal west of 4101 Truxtun Ave., a coroner's release said. He was pronounced dead about an hour later at Adventist Health Bakersfield, formerly known as San Joaquin Community Hospital.
