MOUNT PLEASANT TOWNSHIP, WAYNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)- The Wayne County coroner has identified the remains of a man found last month in Mount Pleasant Township.

They confirm it was the body of 54-year-old Joseph Mastropole. A positive identification was made using DNA testing.

His dismembered remains were found after police served a search warrant. They found bones smoldering in a barrel and body parts stuffed inside a freezer.

Another man committed suicide at the property troopers say was owned by Mastropole.
