The Jefferson County Coroner's Office on Thursday said the body is that of Tavis Domingue, a 44-year-old man who had been reported missing in April. Domingue was from Madisonville, Louisiana just outside of New Orleans but most recent had been living in Argo. Two men told Jefferson County sheriff's deputies they had been hiking in a wooded area behind Cahaba Forest Cove in southern Jefferson County when they discovered the remains. The hikers left the woods and called 911. The remains were badly decomposed, and initially they were not able to determine race or gender. Several days later, Yates released more information about the discovery. The remains are that of an adult white male who was between 5-feet, 10-inches tall and 6-feet, 1 inch tall. Yates said the man was wearing a purple, long-sleeve button up shirt, dark gray dress pants with a thin black plaid design, a black leather belt, a gray hooded, zip-up sweatshirt, black dress socks, size 9 black dress shoes and green "Undertech" boxer shorts.
