Body found in Colleton County identified as missing Johns Island teen
by ABC News 4 Saturday, May 20th 2017

A body found in Colleton County near the Beaufort County line now has a name. The Colleton County Coroner's Office has confirmed 19-year-old Prince Polite of Hughes Road on Johns Island had been missing since Sunday, May 14 when he was found by a logger Wednesday afternoon.
Deputies with the Colleton County Sheriff's office were called to the area of Wiggins Road near the town of Green Pond and said Polite's body was found next to a metal gate near a wooded area. They also said it appeared as if his body had been moved from a scene located in another area.
Colleton County Coroner Richard Harvey said Polite died of gunshot wounds. He would not confirm how many.

Investigators with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) are now working the case at the request of the Colleton County Sheriff's Office. The death investigation is one of two in the county at this time.
On Tuesday, the Colleton County Sheriff's Office says a man, a woman and their 13-year-old son were shot to death more than 30 miles away in the town of Ruffin. A 9-year-old girl was also shot, and remains hospitalized.
The sheriff's office has not said if it thinks the two cases are connected. SLED would not say if it is investigating the body found Wednesday as a homicide.
If you have any information about these cases, please call Crime Stoppers of the Lowcountry at 843-554-1111.
