Skeletal remains identified, man arrested on murder charge By - Associated Press - Saturday, April 29, 2017 TUPELO, Miss. (AP) - A 22-year-old Guntown man has been arrested for the murder of a woman whose skeletal remains were found in rural Lee County two weeks ago. Sheriff Jim Johnson says David Wayne Fisher III was arrested Friday without incident near his home, which is not far from where the remains were discovered. Coroner Carolyn Green tells The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal (http://bit.ly/2qgFb5B ) that DNA testing confirms the identity of the victim as 38-year-old Lynda Pope Reed. Reed had not been seen for about two months before her remains were found April 15 in a shallow grave. How she died remains under investigation. Authorities say Fisher and Reed were in a relationship, but she had not been reported missing.http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2017/a...sted-on-murder/ |
