Sheriff: Body identified as mom of missing, endangered children by KATV Reilly James Scarbrough (L), 10, and his sister Acelynn Carrie Wester ®, 2, are considered missing and endangered from the Mena area. (Photos courtesy Polk County Sheriff's Office) AA POLK COUNTY (KATV) — Authorities confirm a body found in Polk County earlier this week belongs to the mother of two missing children. The Polk County Sheriff's Office confirms the body found Tuesday in Cove has been identified as Bethany Jo Wester, 43. Her two children, 10-year-old Reilly James Scarbrough and 2-year-old Acelynn Carrie Wester, are still considered missing and endangered. According to the sheriff's office, the children were last seen Friday, April 21 or Saturday, April 22 in the Mena area. Acelynn is described as 2 feet tall and 25 pounds. Reilly is 3 feet 6 inches, 60 pounds, and has blonde hair and blue eyes. The sheriff's office did not provide any further details about the circumstances surrounding the children's disappearance or who they may be with. A Morgan Nick-Amber Alert has not been issued for the missing children. The Polk County Sheriff says the mother's body was found Tuesday afternoon in a creek southwest of Cove and taken to the state crime lab for autopsy. The cause of her death has not yet been released, but the sheriff says they are working the case as an active homicide investigation. If you have any information on the whereabouts of Reilly and Acelynn, contact the Polk County Sheriff's Office at (479)394-2511 or your local law enforcement. http://katv.com/news/local/body-found-in-c...hildren-missing |
