The search for a missing Northport man ended late Wednesday night after investigators found his body in a concrete dump site nearly 50 miles from his home.

Investigators learned the location of Morris Watson’s body after they tracked his former step-daughter and her boyfriend to Flintstone, Georgia, said Lt. Kip Hart, Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit commander.
The body was recovered at the site off Calhoun Road in McCalla during the early morning hours Thursday. It appears that he died from a gunshot wound, Hart said.
Annie Lynn Weir, 33, was taken to Tuscaloosa on Wednesday and charged with first-degree receiving stolen property after a police interview. She was charged with murder Thursday, after Watson’s body was recovered and her boyfriend was extradited to Tuscaloosa.
Donnie Lee McCutcheon, 31, was transported from Georgia to Tuscaloosa Thursday, and booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail on murder and first-degree receiving stolen property charges around 8 p.m.
“We’re glad that we were finally able to locate and apprehend the people we believe are responsible for the disappearance and murder of Mr Watson,” Hart said. “We’re happy that we can bring some form of closure to the victim’s family and are grateful that these people are behind bars.”

Family members reported Watson, 59, missing on Sept. 23, saying they hadn’t heard from him since Sept. 9. Investigators also learned that his truck was missing. The truck was located Thursday, and is the property cited in the receiving stolen property charges.
Weir and McCutcheon were seen in the Chattanooga, Tennessee, area shortly after Watson was reported missing. Members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force found them in Flintstone on Wednesday, a city about three miles south of the Alabama-Tennessee state line near Chattanooga.

Weir agreed to return to Tuscaloosa on Wednesday. McCutcheon remained in the Walker County Jail in Georgia, but waived an extradition hearing Thursday morning.
Both were being held at the Tuscaloosa County Jail Thursday with bond set at $270,000 each.
