Von Ruden, Aymar charged with meth possession Published November 4, 2015 at 10:22 pm Stephen James Von Ruden, 27, Brainerd, and Haley Elizabeeth Aymar, 24, Mounds View, were both charged Oct. 29 with possession of methamphetamine; Von Ruden with one felony count of second-degree possession and Aymar with one felony count of fifth-degree possession as well as a gross misdemeanor charge of giving a false name to an officer. According to the criminal complaint, on Oct. 28, law enforcement on routine patrol in Pierz observed a vehicle crossing the centerline and conducted a traffic stop.KonectDirect - Advertise Smarter An officer contacted the driver, identified as Von Ruden, who allegedly appeared intoxicated, slow-moving and fidgety. An odor of alcohol was allegedly detected in the vehicle. The passenger in the vehicle, identified as Aymar, appeared to be in physical distress. Von Ruden allegedly stated he did not have insurance on the vehicle but denied using drugs or alcohol. His license was listed as revoked for a controlled substance crime. Aymar also appeared intoxicated and was twitching. She allegedly identified herself by a different name, later found to be that of her sister. Aymar also allegedly denied having been drinking and denied that there were drugs in the car. When asked, Aymar eventually indicated that there were drugs under the driver’s seat and retrieved a green ziplock pouch. She alleged that she had seen Von Ruden put drugs in the pouch that morning and that it belonged to him. Aymar also allegedly admitted there was an open bottle of vodka in the back seat that had spilled. Von Ruden alleged that the pouch belonged to Aymar and that she had been drinking from the bottle. Inside the pouch was found a syringe, needle and plastic baggies that appeared to contain cocaine or methamphetamine. Also found were a scale with a white residue and more small baggies of a drug-like substance that appeared to be ready for individual sale. A breath test found no signs of alcohol intoxication from either Von Ruden or Aymar. Aymar allegedly stated that Von Ruden was intending to sell drugs in Brainerd, which Von Ruden allegedly denied. A video of the encounter allegedly shows Von Ruden calling Aymar a “snitch b****h” and saying “Oh my God. I’m going to jail. I’m going to prison.” The substance found in the vehicle field-tested positive for methamphetamine, and was found to weigh a total of 21.29 grams, including packaging. While taking Aymar into custody, officers located a piece of paper on her person which contained approximately one gram of meth. In a statement, Aymar allegedly said that the bag in the vehicle belonged to Von Ruden and she had observed him putting drugs into it. She allegedly admitted she and Von Ruden had used methamphetamine together the previous day. She also allegedly admitted giving a false name to the officer. Von Ruden allegedly refused to give a statement. If convicted, Von Ruden faces between three and 40 years in prison and/or up to $500,000 in fines. Aymar faces up to five years in prison and/or $10,000 in fines for the felony possession charge and up to one year in jail and/or $3,000 in fines for the gross misdemeanor of giving a false name. http://mcrecord.com/2015/11/04/von-ruden-a...eth-possession/ |
