Human Remains Identified at Missing Fredericksburg Woman Posted: April 18, 2017 12:28 PM Rochelle Renee Simms. By Susan Larson. Photo previously provided by the Fredericksburg Police Department. Human remains discovered Saturday, April 15, 2017, have been identified as missing Fredericksburg woman Rochelle Simms. Simms, 32, was was reported missing at about 9:20 p.m. October 25, 2016, when she did not return home. She was last seen ordering food at Soup & Taco on Caroline Street at about 8 p.m., and had been at the Rappahannock Area Community Services Board's Kenmore Club at 600 Jackson St. earlier in the evening. The Kenmore Club serves adults with mental disabilities. According to family members, Simms had Asperger’s syndrome, which is considered a high-functioning type of autism spectrum disorder. At about 6:30 p.m. Saturday, a citizen reported finding what appeared to be human remains while relic hunting in a heavily wooded area in the City of Fredericksburg, according to Fredericksburg Police Department spokesperson Sarah Kirkpatrick. Fredericksburg patrol officers and detectives responded and confirmed the remains to be human.
