Family ‘not giving up’ in search for Camas teen "We are ready for Cole to come home," Michelle Burbank told KOIN 6 News Chris Holmstrom and KOIN 6 News Staff Published: April 17, 2017, 10:41 pm Updated: April 17, 2017, 11:13 pm Hundreds search for Camas teen missing since Thursday CAMAS, Wash. (KOIN) — As search efforts continue for a Camas teen who went missing last week, his mother says she’ll do whatever it takes to bring her son back home. Cole Burbank, 16, left Camas High School around 7:45 a.m. Thursday and headed to Clark College where he’s enrolled in advanced classes. Michelle Burbank says she’ll do whatever she can to bring her son, Cole, home, April 17, 2017. (KOIN) Hours later, detectives said his phone pinged for the last time on St. Johns Boulevard just north of the college. Since then, hundreds of people have joined in to help with the search efforts. Cole’s mother, Michelle Burbank, told KOIN 6 News she’s heartbroken. “Whatever situation you are in, whether by yourself, with friends, or held against your will, we are ready to do whatever it takes to bring you home,” Michelle said. “Not a single person would be upset, honey. Dad is out looking for you right now along with a lot of other people who care about you. We are not giving up.” So far, there are few clues as to where he might be. Michelle said it’s been difficult to stay strong, but she’s thankful for everyone who has stepped up to help. “I have a lot of people around me who are really amazing and I’m just unbelievably overwhelmed by the amount of people wanting to help,” she said. (KOIN) — The car associated with a missing Camas teen was found in Chehalis, Washington on Friday with a body inside. The Camas Police Department said the black Honda Accord was found in a shopping center parking lot with the body of a young adult male inside. They are waiting on the Lewis County Coroner for positive identification. Cole Burbank, 16, was last seen on April 13 leaving Camas High School on his way to classes at Clark College. Since then, hundreds of volunteers and several police agencies have aided in the search. On behalf of the family: Cole has been found and God has a new angel in his choir. We are incredibly thankful for the overwhelming support and prayers that all of the individuals in this community have shown during this difficult time. We are blessed by your prayers and find comfort in knowing so many of you cared for Cole. - Scarlett Sky Kendrick, with Michelle Burbank Camas police reported Friday night that the body of a young, adult male had been found that evening in a car associated with Burbank. The car was parked at a shopping center in Chehalis, Washington. The Lewis County coroner is working to positively identify the body. Cole, who was 16 years old, was last seen alive the morning of April 13 near Clark College. He left Camas High School to attend Running Start classes at Clark College but never showed up and had not been heard from since.
