http://www.khou.com/news/local/taxas-equus...udent/432342792 Search for missing UH student narrows to Spring area KHOU.com Staff and Melissa Correa, KHOU 5:32 PM. CDT April 19, 2017 HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -- Volunteers resumed their search Wednesday for missing University of Houston student An Nguyen, 27. Texas EquuSearch is looking in the Spring area both on foot and ATV, although officials have yet to comment on why the search was narrowed down to this area. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office would only say that investigators have a good feeling about a search in this area of Spring. As of 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, the searching had concluded for the day and volunteers hoped to resume the search Thursday morning. They plan to cover about a three to five mile area. Right now, they are asking us to keep the exact location under wraps. They say releasing those details could compromise Harris County’s investigation. Nguyen was last seen on March 31, family members say. His Jeep was found abandoned last week. Nguyen was last seen wearing a light-shaded, yellow-colored T-shirt. Nguyen is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. He is a student majoring in hotel management at UH's Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management. The student lived with his family in the Willowbrook area. His brother, Loc Nguyen, insists his brother has no enemies, no illness, nor any reason to run. EquuSearch's involvement in the search continues even as founder Tim Miller's family continues to clean up from Tuesday's flooding in Brazoria and Galveston Counties. On the non-profit's Facebook page photos of damage to Miller's home was posted with the message, "Tim Miller has 4" of water in his house, and it's still rising. Pictures of his living room and his granddaughter walking through the water inside. Please keep Tim in your thoughts and prayers." |
