Missing Yuba College student's truck found in Sutter County
Alycia Yeoman was last seen Thursday night
KCRA | Updated: 6:39 AM PDT Apr 4, 2017

GRIDLEY, Calif. (KCRA) — Law enforcement officers found the truck Monday evening that belongs to a Yuba College student who has been missing for more than four days, the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office said.

Farm workers noticed the truck for several days in an orchard in Live Oak, and they finally reported it to officials Monday evening when it still hadn't moved. Investigators discovered it was the truck belonging Alycia "Aly" Yeoman, 20, of Gridley.

Yeoman was last seen about 11 p.m. Thursday when she drove away from a home in the 1800 block of Romero Street in Yuba City, the Gridley Police Department said.

The sheriff's office said that Yeoman's truck went down a levee and got stuck in the mud off of Pennington Road. Investigators found one pair of footprints walking away from the truck. They do not believe foul play was involved, at this time.

Yeoman is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighs about 115 pounds and has brownish-blond hair. She also has braces, a nose ring and a small mole near her left eye, Gridley police posted on Facebook.

Yeoman, who works at both Starbucks and McDonald's in Gridley, never showed up for her early morning shift at McDonald's on Friday, according to a co-worker.

Initially, police said Yeoman’s truck, a green two-door extended cab Toyota Tacoma, was missing and her phone was going straight to voicemail.

Police pinged Yeoman's phone at 4:30 a.m. Monday, which showed that it was in an empty field across the street from the Yuba City Walmart on Harter Parkway, near Oro Ranch Road, police said. However, the phone was not found.

Alycia "Aly" Yeoman’s truck was found in a Live Oak orchard by farm workers, the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office said Monday, April 3, 2017.

Yeoman's phone was also not found in the truck.

Anyone with information about Yeoman's whereabouts is asked to call the Gridley Police Department at 530-846-5670.

GRIDLEY, Calif. - Investigators said they spent all day searching for missing 20-year-old Alycia Yeoman from Gridley.

At about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Butte County and Rescue Team was deployed to Pennington Road in Live Oak to do an extensive search of the area. Gridley Police said the search yielded negative results by evening, but that the search would continue.

Police are releasing little details about what their investigation entails, but did confirm that Yeoman's cell phone had been found and they were searching it for information.

Alycia Yeoman was last seen at 11 p.m. Thursday, driving away from a home in Yuba City. She is 5-foot, 4-inches tall and weighs 115 pounds. Her hair is brown with blonde highlights and she has braces, a nose ring, and a small mole near her left eye.

The truck belonging to missing Yeoman was found stuck in mud in a Sutter County orchard on Monday. Yeoman was not found and investigators were unable to locate her cell phone in the area but a Live Oak resident called the police department and said that they had found a cell phone in the area of Yeoman's truck.

Law enforcement confirmed that it was her cell phone and they are now examining the cell phone records for any investigative leads.

Family and co-workers told police Yeoman missed two days of work when they reported her missing. Friends said they were hoping to obtain her phone records Monday.

Tuesday, police said there continues to be no credible leads of suspicious circumstances or foul play in Yeoman's disappearance at this time. They also added that the family is continuing their own search efforts and has requested no contact with news outlets at this time.

Gridley and Biggs Police are asking anyone with information about Yeoman's disappearance to call the police department at 530-846-5670.

Body in Feather River found near Aly Yeoman's truck
Yuba College student went missing more than a month ago

SUTTER COUNTY, Calif. (KCRA) —
Many people throughout Northern California are waiting for a body to be identified after it was found in the Feather River less than half a mile from where missing Yuba College student Alycia "Aly" Yeoman's truck was discovered in a field.

A fisherman came across the body about 12:45 p.m. Sunday just south of the Live Oak Recreational Park boat launch, according to the Sutter County Sheriff's Office.

No identifying information about the body has been released.

Yeoman was last seen on the evening of March 30 driving away from her friend's home in Yuba City.

A few days later, Yeoman's truck and cellphone were found in a field in Live Oak, as was a single set of footprints leading away from her truck, investigators said.

KCRA-TV
A massive search was launched around the region as people combed through fields, posted flyers and turned over security camera footage. One video showed Yeoman's truck pulling onto a levee in Live Oak the last night she was seen and then disappearing into the dark.

The FBI served a search warrant at the home where Yeoman left the night she was last seen, but no information about what investigators were looking for or what they may have found has been released.

Michael Lizarraga owns that home and is believed to be the last person to have seen Yeoman.

Lizarraga spoke with KCRA 3 on Saturday about Yeoman's disappearance and what he told her before he left her house. The two had some drinks before Yeoman left his house, but Lizarraga maintains he is innocent and doesn't know where she is.

"I will never be placed under arrest because, like I said, I have truth on my side," Lizarraga said. "I just hope and I pray that Aly comes home soon and this nightmare ends. I believe that she's alive. I just sit here and I think, and I pray."

Lizarraga said he didn't know Yeoman wasn't old enough to drink and said that he is cooperating with investigators. He also said he's spoken to Yeoman's family.

"I've talked to Aly’s father and uncle," Lizarraga said. "There are some family members, some friends, that have message me, called me and have said some awful things."

The Sutter County Sheriff's Office is planning to release the identity of the body in the next couple days.

Body found near Live Oak park where crews searched for missing college student in April
BY WALTER KO

The Sutter County Sheriff’s Office recovered a body Sunday afternoon in the Feather River near Live Oak, but officials have yet to determine if it was Aly Yeoman, who has been missing since March 30.

Sheriff’s officials said the body was found by an angler around 12:46 p.m. and later recovered just south of the Live Oak Recreational Park boat launch, according to a statement.

The park sits at the end of Pennington Road, the same road near the orchard where Yeoman’s car and phone were found last month. The park was also the staging area for search and rescue teams looking for Yeoman in early April.

Sutter County Undersheriff Jeff Pierce said his office is unlikely to announce Monday whether the body is that of Yeoman, a 20-year-old Yuba College student who was reported missing March 30 from the Live Oak area.

Sutter County transferred the body to Sacramento County because Sutter does not have a forensic pathologist, Pierce said. He expects to give an update Tuesday on the body’s identity.

The lower half of the body was submerged when it was found Sunday, he said. Authorities are examining dental records.

Yeoman’s disappearance brought her hometown of Gridley together during an emotional month-long “Hope Vigil” that started when she went missing.

A “Find Alycia Yeoman” Facebook page has been set up, with messages like, “Our hearts are broken beyond words...” and photos of a young Aly surrounded by friends.

Her family has offered a reward for $50,000 for information about her disappearance and launched a GoFundMe page that has raised more than $12,000.

Sheriff: Body found in Feather River is missing Yuba College student
Staff, ABC10 , KXTV 1:37 PM. PDT May 09, 2017

A body found in the Feather River Sunday afternoon is confirmed to be missing Yuba College student Alycia Yeoman, according to the Sutter County Sheriff's Office.

At approximately 12:45 p.m. Sunday, the sheriff’s office says they recovered Yeoman’s body from the Feather River south of the Live Oak Recreational Park boat launch. The identity of the body was confirmed through dental records.

The 20-year-old had been last seen driving her car in Yuba City on March 30. The vehicle was found the next day in a Live Oak orchard, and her cell phone was later traced to an empty field behind a Yuba City Walmart three days after her disappearance was reported.

Yeoman’s family and friends said at the time they knew something was wrong when she missed two days of work. The Yuba College student worked at the McDonalds and Starbucks in Gridley.

A lengthy search ensued for Yeoman, which included the FBI searching the home where she was last seen on April 7.

A vigil was recently held on April 30 as family and friends prayed for her return.

The cause and manner of death is still under investigation.

No further details are available at this time.
