WEXFORD COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU)-- Human remains have been found on public property in Wexford County during a search for a man who was reported missing in August. A K9 unit found the remains around 1 p.m. Tuesday as part of an extended search for James Hepworth. Michigan State Police say Hepworth was reported missing to the Oceana County Sheriff's Office on Aug. 1. Hepworth's family tells us he voluntarily left work in the middle of his shift. Troopers say Hepworth's vehicle was found near Dobson Bridge in Wexford County three days after he was reported missing. Since that time, extensive searches in the area have failed. We're told the remains were found nearly a mile from where Hepworth's vehicle was found back in August. The remains were sent to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing where a forensic autopsy/post mortem exam will be conducted. Troopers say a positive identification of the remains may require DNA analysis due to their condition. http://upnorthlive.com/news/local/human-re...ind-missing-man |

James Randolph Hepworth August 30, 1978 - March 28, 2017 Share this obituary Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Share in Email Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries Mr. James Hepworth, 37 yrs old, would be last seen alive on August 1st 2016 while leaving his job in Ludington Michigan. He had been having quite a battle in his head, heart and life. He drove to an area near the Pine River in Hoxeyville, Wexford County where his remains would be later recovered on March 28th 2017 by State Police. James was known as “Little Randy” or “Randy Jr” until his adult life when he decided to start using his legal first name of James. He attended Oceana County Christian School until the end of his 6th grade year and then was homeschooled. He also attended Westshore Community College where he took Welding, something he very much loved doing. On February 10th 2001 James married Amanda Wheaton in Ludington Michigan. In 2001 they also welcomed a baby girl named Mikayla “Tay” and built a home in Weare township where they would stay for the remainder of James’ life. A year later he adopted her daughter Sarah. Over the next 15 years they would go on to having 6 more children together- Tyler, Noah, Laura, Jenna, Josiah and Emma. He is survived by them. Amanda on would get into hobby farming and James would take great pleasure in building her tools to make her projects easier. It didn’t matter if it was metal working or wood working- he always building. James loved tinkering with everything that he could and modifying them. Even if it was an item straight from the store he often had to modify it to work a little more efficiently. The running joke was that everything he built could withstand a hurricane. In James’ childhood he enjoyed bike riding the Pentwater Plains, Western movie watching with his Grandpa Denzil, Camping in the Upper Peninsula and Hiking. As a father he would go on to instilling the same traditions into his children. He loved Lake Superior, Bodi Lake, Mouth of Two Hearted River and Brevort Lake. He loved “bombing the trails” of Pentwater Plains and the State park on bikes with Tay, Tyler and Noah. Later this summer some of James ashes will be spread in some of his favorite places on earth- The Ludington State Park and Lake Superior. There will be no funeral but rather a Celebration of Life in May at the Ludington State Park. Details to come later. Please contact Amanda at psalm127@live.com with any questions and to let her know you plan on attending so that you can be notified as to date/time etc. Thank you- The Family of James Hepworth http://www.kingfuneralhome.net/home/obituary/4182044 |
