http://www.click2houston.com/news/vehicle-...n-officials-say Vehicle of missing woman found in NE Houston, officials say By Ryan Korsgard - Reporter Posted: 4:35 PM, March 31, 2017 Updated: 10:15 PM, March 31, 2017 HOUSTON - The vehicle of a woman who has been missing since March 24 was found Friday in northeast Houston, officials said. The missing woman’s vehicle was found at 12:50 p.m. in the 8300 block of Tilgham Street. Family members said they haven’t seen or heard from Karen Ramirez, 26, who has been missing for a week. A worker at a warehouse in east Houston spotted an abandoned car on Tilgham Street at Port Houston and called police. He told police the vehicle had been parked on the street all week. Police said there was blood in the car and a gunshot through the passenger side. "It would appear that something has happened to Karen,” said Detective Phil Waters, of the Houston Police Department homicide division. “At this point, we do not know who may have harmed her. But she was appears to be, shot. And what it appears to be inside where the transfer of blood is inside the car, it looks like she might have been shot in the driver's seat, pushed over into the passenger's seat and then later put in the trunk and might have been disposed of between here and somewhere in southeast Houston." Detective Waters said Karen and her boyfriend, Miguel Buezo, were together at a club in southeast Houston a week ago. The detective said there may have been an argument. Neither has been seen since. Property owners near where their abandoned car was found said there was activity here Saturday afternoon and again that night. Waters said, "There is some discussion that Miguel may be in Honduras, because he apparently contacted an ex-girlfriend who may have assisted him in acquiring a plane ticket to Honduras." Police said they would attempt to get surveillance video from three businesses in the area to help them piece together what happened a week ago in an industrial area of east Houston. The scene is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Houston Police Department missing person unit at 832-394-1840. |

http://cw39.com/2017/04/11/hpd-woman-still...n-east-houston/ HPD: Missing woman’s boyfriend charged with murder after blood found in victim’s car POSTED 7:31 AM, APRIL 11, 2017, BY WEB STAFF, UPDATED AT 09:42AM, APRIL 11, 2017 HOUSTON — A man accused of murdering his missing 26-year-old girlfriend could be overseas after the victim’s car was found abandoned and its interior stained with dried blood in a warehouse area of southeast Houston, police said. Karen Ramirez was reported missing March 24 after she left for a dinner date with her boyfriend, 27-year-old Miguel Angel Buezo, at the La Playita Bar and Grill. Investigators suspect Buezo later got into a fight at the club and the couple left. Neighbors witnessed Buezo and Ramirez arguing in the driveway of the couple’s home in the 7400 block of Lakehurst Drive the following morning between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m, police said. The couple was standing next to Ramirez’ small red car. Court documents quote Buezo yelling at Ramirez and saying, “Ya callate, y calmate. Te voy tirar unos balazos como el que te tire la otra vez! (Shut up, and calm down. I’m going to shoot at you like I shot at you the other time!)” Buezo, wearing just his underwear, was allegedly seen walking back and forth between the victim’s car and his house later in the morning. Investigators said Buezo then went to the home of his estranged wife, who he has been married to since 2011, and told her he needed help. Buezo told the wife his mother was sick, and he was flying to Honduras to see her, court records said. She asked Buezo if Ramirez would be joining him, and he said no because they had an argument. According to court documents, the wife accompanied Buezo as he went to the bank to deposit money, abandoned the victim’s car, bought his plane ticket and went to the airport. The wife led authorities to Ramirez’ car, which was parked in the 8200 block of Tilgham Street, a few days afterwards on March 31. Police opened the driver’s side door and found large amounts of blood on the driver’s seat and headrest, court documents said. Evidence allegedly supports that a gun had been fired from inside the car, and there was a bullet hole in the passenger’s side door. A bullet was also found underneath the driver’s seat, police said. Anyone with information related to the whereabouts of Ramirez or Buezo is asked to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS. |

Search for Karen Ramirez shifts to dumping 'hot spot,' EquuSearch says By Cathy Hernandez - Reporter , Stephanie Cano - Digital News Editor Posted: 12:17 PM, May 02, 2017 Updated: 12:43 PM, May 02, 2017 Texas EquuSearch on Tuesday searched a utility right-of-way in southeast Houston that volunteers said is notorious for dumping. They believe that Karen Ramirez’s boyfriend might have dumped her body there. Volunteers gathered at a church Tuesday morning to pray for a miracle in finding the 26-year-old. Riding ATVs, they searched in a field with patches of wooded areas along fence lines, power lines and pipelines in southeast Houston. EquuSearch called the area a "hot spot" for dumping. Trash cans were visible nearby. Police found her car abandoned a week after she was reported missing. Her boyfriend, Miguel Buezo, is charged in her death, but police said he booked a flight to Honduras a day after he killed her. Texas EquuSearch said that with each passing day, the challenges increase. “We got a lot, of course, (of) decomposition since it eliminates some of the ways we can detect where she is, but we’re coming across terrain that is pretty think and tough but people are determined to hide people, you just have to look in every kind of place,” Frank Black of Texas EquuSearch said. Volunteers said they are hopeful they’ll find Ramirez’s body and bring closure to her family. They'll search until 4 p.m. Tuesday. http://www.click2houston.com/news/search-f...equusearch-says |
