Valencia Man Reported Missing By Family
Posted by: Natalie Rocha in Local News, Santa Clarita Latest News January 28, 2017 - 4:04 pm

A Valencia family is asking for help finding their relative reported missing this week.

The Santa Clarita Valley community is being asked to help in locating William John Cierzan, a Six Flags Magic Mountain employee who seems to have disappeared without notifying family members..

Cierzan is the third missing person reported in the area recently, following San Diego resident Jake Roberson, whose car was found abandoned on the northbound Interstate 5 freeway, and Chelsea Vannoy of Valencia, who has not been heard from by family in several weeks.

Anyone with information regarding a missing person can contact the Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide/Missing Person’s Bureau at 323-890-5500.

Past statistics indicate station officials receive an average of more than one such report every day.

Two other reports of non-area residents in missing persons reports last seen in the SCV — one involving a woman who was found in the Antelope Valley, and a separate report from the family of a San Diego man, were also reported this past week.

Officials from the San Diego Police Department ask that anyone with information about Jake Roberson’s whereabouts call them at 619-531-2000 or 858-484-3154.

If you prefer to provide information anonymously, you may call “Crime Stoppers” by dialing (800) 222-TIPS (8477) or by using the Crime Stoppers website.

Approximately 368 missing persons reports were reported in the Santa Clarita Valley in 2012, according to figures provided by the SCV Sheriff’s Station, which included 192 men and 176 women.

More than three dozen residents were reported missing multiple times, and of those, 25 people were reported missing two times; 10 people were reported missing multiple times; two people were reported missing five times and one person was reported missing six times, all within a 12-month period.

SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives sought the public’s help Wednesday to locate a 58-year-old man who has been reported missing in Santa Clarita.

Cierzan spoke with his wife that afternoon, but when she returned home from work, he was gone.

Cierzan’s truck was parked outside their home. His wallet, keys and jacket were left inside the vehicle.

Santa Clarita Valley Community Searches For Missing Valencia Man
Posted by: Natalie Rocha in Local News, Santa Clarita Latest News February 25, 2017 - 11:33 am 1 Comment 1,624 Views

A search party organized by an SCV Facebook group drew dozens of residents to help find a missing Santa Clarita man Saturday morning.

William Cierzan, 58, was reported missing by his wife, Linda, when she came home shortly after speaking to him on the phone on Jan. 26 to find that he was not there.

Human blood was found in their home after his disappearance, and investigators are seeking any and all leads to his whereabouts, according to officials.
With plans to scour the Santa Clarita Valley through foot searches and on off-road vehicles, the organizers sought help through Facebook grou SCV Emergency Now and asked residents and Angeles Forest officials to help find any trace of Cierzan. Dozens showed to the grocery store parking lot where the group gathered.
“We’re very spread out, and most of this area has already been searched on foot,” said Kari Dauer-Hewitt, one of the search organizers. “But because of the change in weather (and) because of all of the rain and everything, it’s changed our ability to access areas that have already been searched.”
William Cierzan Search Party Many residents were more than happy to help out and search for any trace of Cierzan through the valley, such as search volunteer Misty Wolf.
“I live in Santa Clarita, my kid goes to school in Santa Clarita, I love my community,” she said. “And if it was me, I would hope that other people would want to come find me.”
Linda Cierzan was also at the search party meeting, but left with her family to help spread out flyers, according to search organizers.
Statements by Cierzan and her family were read to thank volunteers for their help in searching for William: “Will is always saying that we are not lucky, we are blessed. Today we feel blessed and grateful that so many members of our community would take time out of their weekend to help find and bring home safely a friend, a brother, a husband and a very special member of our family.”
Anyone with information regarding a missing person can contact the Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide/Missing Person’s Bureau at 323-890-5500.

Wife of missing man files complaint with local sheriff
July 28, 2017, 7:08 pm

The wife of Six Flags worker Will Cierzan, who has been missing for more than half a year, filed an official complaint Wednesday with the local sheriff’s station about the deputy initially contacted about his disappearance.

“Last night was exactly six months since my husband has gone missing,” Linda Cierzan wrote to The Signal Thursday on an email account still bearing her husband’s name.

“The family is still hoping and praying that someone will come forward and offer information that will bring Will home safely,” she said.

But, while Will Cierzan’s loved ones continue to pray, steps have been taken to challenge the efforts carried out to find him.

“I did file a complaint at the (Santa Clarita Valley) Sheriffs Station yesterday, against the original deputy who took the Missing Persons Report that Thursday night,” Linda Cierzan told The Signal Thursday.

“I feel that if she had done her job properly, she would have seen the blood and detectives would have been called in that night, instead of 24 plus hours later,” she said.

Asked Friday to confirm that the local sheriff’s station received a complaint about their handling of the Cierzan disappearance, one Sheriff’s Station official said officials are looking into the claim.

VANISHED

On Jan. 26, William John Cierzan, 58, who worked at Six Flags Magic Mountain, had been reportedly watching golf on TV with his nephew, Daniel, at 1:30 p.m. that day inside his home on Cuatro Milpas Street, near Seco Canyon Road.

After the nephew left the home, Cierzan began making dinner, Cierzan’s sister Andrea Peck told The Signal shortly after the disappearance.

“His wife called him between 3:30 and 4 p.m. and he said ‘I’m putting dinner on’ and he was in great spirits,” she said.

At 5 p.m., the wife called again and he said the chicken was cooked.

But, two hours later, Cierzan’s wife arrived home and found the chicken cooked, with the oven turned off.

Her husband’s wallet, keys, and coat were in the house, with credit cards and money in the wallet. The family dog was in the house.

But, there was no sign of Cierzan. That was 164 days ago, and there’s been no sign of him since then.

BLOOD EVIDENCE

Det. Ralph Hernandez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department’s Homicide Bureau two months ago revealed blood evidence collected inside the Cierzan house revealed that the blood belonged to Will Cierzan.

“The blood stains found in the home came back to Will,” he said at the time. “And, we also found his blood at a location outside of his home.”

Hernandez did not disclose where the blood found “outside of his home” had been found.

“The evidence indicates that an assault did occur,” Hernandez said earlier this month.

Hernandez said he would prefer to have more contact with the last person to see Will Cierzan alive – the nephew, Daniel Cierzan.

“We only have a person of interest and that is Daniel Cierzan,” Hernandez told The Signal in May.

The ordeal over Will Cierzan’s bizarre disappearance has cut a profound rift inside the Cierzan family.
