HURST – A Fort Worth daughter is desperate to find her missing mother.

"The last time I saw my mom was on Mother's Day," Maritza Fuller said.

It was a day she wishes she could rewind to, rather than fearing what the future holds.

"[Fearing] that she's not with us on Earth," Fuller said.

She spends her time now aching for the 72-year-old, whose disappearance Hurst police are calling suspicious.

"I love my mom dearly, and she's been my world for a long time," she said, as tears streamed down her face. "I really want her to be found."

Fuller discovered her mother was missing from her home in the 800 block of Billie Ruth Lane in Hurst three weeks ago. Norma Shultz wasn't answering her phone or returning texts.

"It's been absolutely like a nightmare," Fuller said. "There's no way she would have walked away or just left."

Investigators agree, saying this behavior is extremely out-of-character.

"I'm not going to say foul play is involved, but I'm certainly not going to say it is not," said Tim Miller, founder of Texas EquuSearch. His mounted search-and-rescue organization based near Houston is working closely with detectives.

Shultz's husband and Fuller's stepfather told authorities he last saw his wife on Memorial Day weekend. News 8 attempted to contact him at his home, but received no response as of Thursday afternoon.

The search for Norma Shultz, who has been missing for three weeks, is picking up steam. Jenny Doren has more.

Police say they have no suspects, but now believe Shultz may have vanished six days prior to Memorial Day, when a neighbor reported waving to her and never seeing her again. Shultz's vehicle was found parked at her home.

"It was a cold case before it became a missing person case," Miller said.

He's dedicated his life to solving missing person mysteries.

"I know what they go through," he said of families longing for loved ones. "I made a promise to Lord and God that I'[d] never leave a family alone. We've been in 28 states [and] eight different countries."

Miller lost his daughter Laura back in the mid-80s.

"Really didn't get any help," he said. "17 months later, her body was found, along with three other girls. Two of them [are] still unidentified, and it's still unsolved."

He doesn't want Fuller facing that same reality.

His team is flying a drone and sending out teams on foot and in boat so the beloved mother and grandmother ends up back where she belongs.

The search for Schultz is certainly picking up steam. About 1,000 flyers are being handed out all over Hurst to crack this case.

"Just please help me find my mom," Fuller said.

If you know of Norma Shultz's current whereabouts, or if you have information concerning her disappearance, please call the Hurst Police Department at (817) 788-7174 or call Texas EquuSearch at (281) 309-9500.
