Possible human remains found in St. Martin Parish Investigators with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office say they have found what appear to be human remains discovered Friday afternoon in St. Martin Parish. Shortly after 2 p.m. Friday, investigators with the sheriff's office responded to a 911 call from a pedestrian regarding the discovery of what appeared to be human remains in area off of Leland Road. Investigators recovered the remains and they will be sent to the LSU Forensics Anthropology and Computer Enhancement Services Laboratory for further verification. It appeared that remains were there for an extended period of time, according to a release from the sheriff's office.
