RCMP follow leads in case of John Doe found near Emerald
By Brandon Barrett

Police are continuing to try and identify a man who was found dead in a heavily wooded area near Green Lake in April, and have eliminated all but four leads so far.

On April 26, a cyclist discovered the body on a mountain-biking trail about 200 metres from Highway 99. The death is not considered suspicious.

RCMP has received 14 tips related to the unidentified man, but LeClair said the majority have so far been ruled out.

The man, who was estimated at between 50 and 65 years old at the time of his death, is believed to have died shortly after last being seen on Nov. 13, 2013.

The John Doe is described as being Caucasian, with long grey hair held in a short ponytail with a "scrunchie." He is between 5'6" and 5'10" tall with a medium build. He has no remarkable scars or tattoos.

Anyone with information is asked to call Whistler RMCP at 604-932-3044.
