Skeletal remains found in pond

DUNCAN — More skeletal remains that may be linked to the death of a woman in 2006 have been discovered in a pond northeast of Bray this weekend, authorities said Monday.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation searched the pond after the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office reported remains had been discovered near there last month.

In 2006, Lindsay resident Rose Bagley’s remains were found on Bailey Road, near the pond where the recently-discovered remains were located.

Stephens County Sheriff Wayne McKinney said the remains found in March and April have not been confirmed to be Bagley’s.

OSBI spokewoman Jessica Brown said the Medical Examiner Office will examine the remains to see if they are connected to the 2006 case, or if they are human at all.

“What we have to do is determine if they are human or not, first,” Brown said.

The first of the remains were discovered by fishermen following a drought that lowered water levels. After the remains were passed on to OSBI, the bureau searched the pond on Friday.

Bagley was reported missing during the Memorial Day weekend of 2006. No charges have been filed in her death.
