http://www.macombdaily.com/general-news/20...covery-of-skull Foul play not suspected in discovery of skull By Norb Franz, The Macomb Daily Posted: 03/27/14, 12:06 PM EDT | Updated: 3 days ago Warren detectives do not suspect that a human skull found in an outdoor trash receptacle at an apartment complex involved foul play. The skull was found Tuesday by a person picking through trash at the Warren Manor Apartments on Dequindre Road, north of Eight Mile Road. It was in a bag bearing the name of an undisclosed medical agency and also included documents from that facility, police reported. Due to the cold weather and large amount of garbage in the trash container, officers confiscated the receptacle and had it hauled to the Warren Police Station to search for other potential evidence. The skull was taken to the Macomb County Medical Examiner’s Office for further analysis, possibly to determine the identity of the deceased. “It is indeed a human skull but it doesn’t appear to be foul play in the sense this was a dismembered person or a recent homicide,” Detective Lt. William Wilke said. “It is possibly a teaching tool. It looks like someone discarded some old remnants from some type of medical facility.” The investigation continues. “While this case is interesting, right now it appears uneventful,” Wilke added. |
