Latest Missing Persons News

A fisher discovered a man's body Thursday at mid-day in the Mississippi River at the Poland Avenue wharf, near where the river meets the Industrial Canal, Harbor Police said. The body, in an orange shirt and blue jeans, was pulled from the water shortly before 2 p.m., said spokesman Matthew Gresham of the Port of New Orleans, which oversees the Harbor Police.

Gresham described the man as 40 to 45 years old and said he had no obvious signs of trauma. Investigators think he had been in the water for less than a day

Only after the last tree has been
cut down;
Only after the last fish has been
caught;
Only after the last river has been
poisoned;
Only then will you realize
that money cannot be eaten.
