Potential break in cold case of missing Penn State student linked to bodies in Luzerne County: Centre Daily Times

Editor's note: This story was updated to clarify the number of bodies found and the status of the investigation into Cindy Song's 2001 disappearance.

News that a total of 12 bodies were found on the Luzerne County property of convicted bank robber Hugo Selenski has raised hopes of eventually solving the case of a Penn State student who went missing more than 10 years ago, according to the Centre Daily Times.

None of the bodies have been identified as that of 21-year-old Cindy Song, who disappeared after a party on Oct. 31, 2001 in State College.

A former co-defendant of Selenski who led investigators to the first five bodies they discovered, told police told investigators in 2003 that Selenski and another man had picked up a woman matching Cindy Song's description in State College and killed her. He stressed, however, that he had no first-hand knowledge of the case, but only knew what Selenski had told him.

The revelation that police had uncovered 12 additional bodies on Selenski's property came in a grand jury indictment against Selenski's attorney, Shelley Centini, and a private investigator, James Sulima, earlier this month.

The document states that Centini and Sulima were involved in intimidating witnesses and even bribed them on Selenski's behalf in an open homicide case against Selenski in 2003 in Luzerne County based on the bodies discovered on his property.

Ferguson Police Chief Diane Conrad, whose department is investigating Song's disappearance, told the Centre Daily Times that state police have not indicated that Song was among those found on the property but it's not known how many of the bodies have been identified.
