Skeletal human remains found near Lamesa last weekend are those of an adult female who was the victim of a homicide, according to Dawson County Sheriff Kent Parchman. That information was revealed through an autopsy that was conducted in Lubbock on Tuesday and Wednesday. “At this point we still don’t know who we have or how long the body had been there,” Parchman told the Press-Reporter on Friday afternoon. Citing the ongoing investigation, the sheriff declined to elaborate on what led to the determination that the woman’s death was the result of a homicide. The remains were discovered last Saturday morning, June 29, in a cultivated field off of County Road G about four miles northwest of Lamesa. A farmer on a tractor reportedly spotted what appeared to be a human skull on the opposite side of a turnrow that separates one farm from another. Parchman said officers determined the skeletal remains at the scene were human and that a shallow grave also was found at the location. http://www.pressreporter.com/news_article.php?id=9138 |

Ell Only after the last tree has been cut down; Only after the last fish has been caught; Only after the last river has been poisoned; Only then will you realize that money cannot be eaten. | |
