http://www.jsonline.com/news/crime/remains...-166410836.html Remains found in sewer are those of dismembered adult black male By Mike Johnson of the Journal Sentinel Aug. 16, 2012 Human remains found in a sewer on Milwaukee's west side on May 30 are those of an adult black male who was dismembered, the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office said Thursday. The man, a homicide victim, has not been identified yet, and his upper arms and torso are still missing, according to a report from the medical examiner's office. The report says the man was dismembered with an unknown tool. Attempts have been made with the help of the State Crime Laboratory and Milwaukee Police Department to identify the man. Those efforts include using fingerprints, the report says. Anyone with information should call the medical examiner's office at (414) 223-1200 or the Milwaukee Police Department's Metro Division at (414) 935-7411. The body parts were found in a sewer at the end of an alley at W. Garfield Ave. between N. 40th and N. 41st streets by Department of Public Works maintenance workers who were cleaning and removing debris from a catch basin. No clothing was recovered, the report states. But investigators found one fired 12-gauge shotgun shell, a rubber/latex glove that was torn in two pieces and a silver-colored clamp. |

http://www.jsonline.com/news/milwaukee/mil...-175973731.html Milwaukee police seek help identifying man after remains found By Don Behm of the Journal Sentinel Oct. 26, 2012 10:50 a.m. Milwaukee Police have released a digital image showing the facial appearance of an unidentified male homicide victim with the hope someone might help identify the man. Partial remains of the man were discovered May 30 in a city sewer in the 2100 block of N. 40th St. Anyone who knows someone similar in appearance to the digital enhancement of the man, or knows of a missing person not yet reported, is asked to call the Milwaukee Police Cold Case Hotline at (414) 935-1212. The post-mortem enhancement was created with the assistance of the FBI to show what the victim may have looked like, police said. Investigators from the homicide unit have attempted to identify the victim by conducting an extensive neighborhood canvass. Detectives have reviewed reports of missing persons, along with state and national databases, and checked fingerprint records. Investigators developed a full DNA profile of the victim that was entered into a national DNA database of missing persons. He is described, with a reasonable degree of certainty, as a black male between the age of 18 and 80 years old, police said. One possible identifying feature is a spinal-repair device attached to cervical vertebrae during a past surgery. |
