DPS seeks public's help in identifying homicide victims found on TX border

AUSTIN – The Department of Public Safety is seeking the public's help identifying two homicide victims found on the Texas border.

Texas Rangers and the Maverick County Sheriff’s Office are trying to identify to men found near Eagle Pass on May 22. Authorities say they may be from Mexico.

According to DPS, the victims were discovered in an irrigation canal at FM 1588, which is also known as Thompson Road, north of Eagle Pass. Both men were shot in the head.

A Texas Ranger forensic artist composed post-mortem renderings of the victims to assist in the case. You can see those attached to this story.

The first victim pictured was a Hispanic man between 19 and 22 years old, 5'6" in height, approximately 130 pounds, with wavy black hair and brown eyes. He had a barbed wire tattoo on his upper right arm and the letter “A” tattooed on his upper left arm. He also had a rubber wrist band inscribed with the words “Germany” and “Brazil.”

The second victim pictured was a Hispanic man between 17 and 19 years old, about six feet tall, approximately 160 pounds, with short straight black hair, brown eyes and a mole on his left cheek near his ear. He was wearing a black string necklace with a small medal of the Virgin of Guadalupe.
