Dennise Jeanette Sullivan : http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/2986dfut.html

Both had a fractured leg... age is right, height is right... The timing may work.... I do not know if Dennise has dentals or not

The Doe Network page indicates that the information came from the family, not from the law enforcement agency. I checked in NamUs and there is no record, nor is the case broadcasting in NCIC.

In short my policy is not to pursue matches that are not in NCIC unless the request comes from the family. I have wasted too many hours (that I don’t have) following up on these kinds of “suggested matches” only to find that the case has been cleared by law enforcement. The fact that I cannot detect the NCIC record does not necessarily mean the record isn’t there and active, and sometimes searches by name and DOB don’t return due to inaccurate information on the website or by LE. The other possibility is that law enforcement did not enter the record into NCIC. If that is the case then I have no authority to violate a person’s privacy. You are free to follow up with either the family or the law enforcement agency to verify that Sullivan is still missing. I will not given the current state of information.

As you will know (if you researched this unidentified case), these remains can only be identified, or a match ruled out, by dental or head X-rays. The remains were submitted to California Department of Justice, Missing Persons DNA Program (Richmond, CA), in 2004, but to date no nucDNA profile can be developed. However, I am hopeful with

What you should know is that I work hard on my cases. I have developed some form of identifier record for all of my active cases. I do not care what they do anywhere else, I only care about what I do here. Consequently, when you or anyone else is reviewing a match for one of my cases you should always check my NamUs record first. Nothing against TDN, but I did not create that record and am not responsible for its contents. I created and uploaded my NamUs record, and am entirely responsible for what I did or did not do. Law enforcement users will have access to photographs, X-rays, fingerprints, everything I have. I only deal with professionals or family. I will assist advocates, but will hold them to a high standard.

Please don’t send me messages asking if this missing person could be my unidentified person. Of course they could be the same person. Since you will know I did my job (because I just told you I did – ask Todd Matthews if you don’t believe me) please do your best to work on those that may not have done their jobs (the Missing Persons Investigators) or ask the family to get involved.

Good luck

The Old Heifer! An oxymoron, of course.
